Whatever they did, it's unlikely that voter ID laws would have stopped most of them from voting. You could be a felon with a legitimate, current ID. Most of them probably were.

That's not the point. The point was whether or not it happens.

I looked and it appears that your position is based on spin and not reality.

But I'll look if you have some other proof.
Instead of Gore how about Obama and these So Called Democrats?

Politics: The administration likes to use soldiers for photo-ops but now, in a critical battleground state, they want to restrict the extra time for service members who protect our right to vote to cast theirs.

mvsaclThe administration showed its true appreciation for military service when, on July 17, the Obama for America Campaign, the Democratic National Committee and the Ohio Democratic Party filed suit in that swing state to strike down part of the state's law governing voting by members of the military that gives them extra time to cast their ballots
Ohio is one of 32 states that allows early voting in person or by mail without an excuse.....snip~

Obama Supporters Sue To Restrict Extra Time For Military Voting - Investors.com

In a move that could have an impact on the final result of the presidential election, Barack Obama’s campaign has sued Ohio to block a measure which extends early voting for members of the military.

The action brought quick responses from Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and as many as 15 military groups.

DeWine told Fox News on Friday that he found the July 17 action by Obama campaign, the Democratic National Committee and the Ohio Democratic Party “quite shocking."

The tradition for allowing special circumstances for military personnel in voting dates back to the civil war, he said.....snip~

    That's what I thought.

That's in response to the Repubs law trying to prevent church groups from voting on the Sunday before election day, but not the military.

Considering the voti g patterns of the church groups in question and the military, the reasoni g is clear.

So it was about disenfranchising the church groups who generally vote dem and not disenfranchising the rep leaning military.

Spin, and partisan game playing, in other words.

It is the point if we're using it as an example of why voter ID is needed.

If ID wouldn't stop it, maybe we need something that will fix that instead. I agree it's a problem, but voter ID in this case is like putting a full body cast on a paper cut. Makes no difference.

The Gore thing was about counting incomplete/undated absentee ballots from military members, which were discarded per policy originally.

And who do you think Investors Business Daily wants as preaident?

Well, then that's a different argument than the one which was being made, which was that there's no shred of a need for it.

There is no shred of a need for voter ID. Well, maybe a shred, but a very small shred. What would be fixed by voter ID is such a small problem, it's not worth the attention it's been getting.

If we want to go after voter fraud, start with absentee ballots. There's probably many cases of both parties cheating that system, but it's not as well documented because it's easier to hide. In the end, Gore v. Bush, and Franken v. Coleman were both cases that hinged on absentee ballots, but voter ID doesn't fix it.

As I say, that's a different argument from saying there is no voter fraud.
