This is rather sad. Don't even want to entertain the idea that a leader would allow citizens to be killed for the sake of changing legislation.

This is as big a douche move as the Dixie Chicks and their cheap pop. Dont care what side of the aisle you favor or if you are a conservative or liberal. This kind of stuff is moronic. Now...I personally dont have a single Megadeth CD...but if I were so inclined...I wouldnt buy another one of their products.

This doofus REALLY makes a case for not using drugs.

Now Obama loses the Moron vote. Oh what a election year.

I probably would. If I liked Megadeth. Not my cup of tea.

I've long thought that the name "megadeath" was about the silliest name imaginable for a band. It sounds like something a couple of 12 year olds would come up with and it is so bad, I've often wondered if it were intentionally ironic -- kind of a Spinal tap sort of thing?

If I'm not mistaken, it is a term that the Pentagon used to descirbe potential loss of life in a nuclear war.

But I agree that it sounds silly.

Sadly no. Megadeth is the least interesting of the major thrash metal bands of the 80's imo. Their music hasn't aged well, though I wore out my copy of Peace Sells...But Who's Buying? when I was in high school.

I like megadeth but it sounds like Mustaine has lost his mind. I saw someone on facebook quote him saying he had read Glen Beck's book and now he was pissed.

I am a huge Megadeth Fan, but can not give Dave a pass on this one. Just as it was wrong for the Dixie Chicks to run their mouth about our sitting President at the time, it's wrong for Dave to do the same.

It's sad because he used to be a liberal and now he's a follower of Beck.

I still occasionally buy Starbucks and Im betting now that the dust has settled at least a few gay folks have bought ChickFilA (or at least paid someone else in the office to make a sammich run for them). ;)

Edit: Oh...and I still have the old Dixie Chicks CDs...just never bought their new stuff. 'Sadly'...they...sorta died off...

Not to distract the thread, but The Dixie Chicks didn't accuse Bush of something like this. They just said they were embarrassed of being from the same state. Not quite the same.

it was not wrong for mustaine to spout off. he only exposes that he is a dumb ass with an inclination for tin foil

what is wrong is to compare his conspiracy driven rants with the truth expressed by Natalie Maines:
"we don't want this war, this violence, and we're ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas"

Yep, this. There is a big difference between showing dislike for the president, and accusing them of killing their own citizens.

Dave Mustaine is definitely right of center, but he is also an attention whore. He will say anything if it can get him into the news. Does he really believe what he is saying? I don't know, but like I said, he is an attention whore.

Don't be too hard on Uncle Ted. He is like the senile old grandfather who goes nuts at the sound of reason. LOL.

Rad you are right. I should have mentioned that I do not think either one should be running their mouths while in front of a foreign audience. If you have an issue with your country why not keep it in house. Just a pet peeve of mine I am sure a lot of citizens won't see it my way.

I am sure the people of Singapore really cared. Reminds me of the part in The Doors where Jim starts talking to audience about politics and all kinds of weird stuff, and the audience started yelling at him to shut up and just play your music.

I still remember how Britney Spears decided to go political and told people to leave Bush alone, and let him do his job.... such a thoughtful opinion. lol. Who gives a crap.
