Or you can do what WalMart does, tell your suppliers to cut their expenses so they can charge you 1% less for the items you buy from them? AND, a final desperate move on your part, take a 1% hit on YOUR income so your employees can have health care insurance! Or did that never occur to you? There is more to being a business man than complaining loud and strong when someone suggests you do something weird like treating your employees nicely.
Oh, John, you are such a Dick !!!!
Do you have the first clue what their bottom line will end up being and how much this will end up costing them? Its EASY being critical of the owner (they are big enough Im pretty sure they have shareholders to answer to). Its easy to talk about how easy it is to do the 'right' thing...as long as its not YOUR bottom line being discussed.

About THE worse way to buy healthcare insurance is as an individual.

Who here, who thinks the lower wage food service folks should pay for their healthcare coverage 100%, buys their insurance 100% on their own? They are not part of a company/group plan?

mine is $2,800 a year per person covered with a 5K deductible. No major health issues, but still very expensive if you are on your own to cover the costs.

$2,800 a year per person is a bit much for someone not making CEO wages,(we do alright so while it is a bit pricey we can afford our insurance)

Seems to me if the CEO's of food service businesses don't want to provide healthcare insurance they should drop the BS feel good, team members/associates and call it what it is- low wage exploited expendable labor, or chumps.

First of all that's 20 cents a gallon and some people fill up once a week at 10-20 gallons. That's $2.00-$4.00 dollars a week extra and gas is a necessecity for work. People can generally give up pizza, they can't give up their cars due to lack of transportation to work.

Do you? Do you work for Papa Johns or are you making assumptions as well that they can't? YOU are the one complaining about a 20 cent increase in pizzas, not me and not Papa Johns.

Well...we ARE having a discussion on an online bulletin board. The company is being forced to provide health coverage so they will adjust their prices. Seems about right.

Oh...but YOU provide for yourself...and thats a good thing...so you will just pay more to pay for those that dont. Thats fine.
John is a whiner.....he wants the public to care about his bottom line while he cares little about his employees. What a moron...

$233.33 per month isn't too bad....depending...is it 100% coverage after meeting the deductible? are there copays?
My son pays a bit over $400 per month to cover his wife and 3 kids. His insurance is free from his employer, a school district, but to add his family to the school district policy is about $1000 per month.
