your beloved working class are nothing more than pawns for people like Obama. They only get upset when their puppet masters tell them to.

if your side loses can we expect you to blow your brains out? You sure seem to have more personal stake in the parasite party winning than any other poster on this board

their masters want to buy their votes by appealing to class envy. most leftwing tax schemes are not designed to help anyone but to hurt people who are demonized by the masters

.... another argument for more tax cuts for the rich.

Oh wait, contrary to the ill-informed post of above, the poverty rate actually decreased since the war on poverty began under Johnson, but then we had to go and elect Reagan, who decided to start the war on the middle class. Of course, there was some respite under Clinton, but then we had to go and elect GWBush and Katie Bar the Door.

I don't know, but that had nothing to do with my query. Did you miss Bernanke and what he was saying about taxes and the economy, or did you not?

Do you mean where "He reiterated his view that Congress should take steps to stimulate economic growth in the near term but quickly formulate a plan to shave the $15 trillion national debt over the long term. "The timing should be adjusted to allow the recovery little bit of space to continue," he said."
Bernanke offers downbeat view of economy, but no action

I am sure his warning not to cut spending in the near term was well received by the GOP no doubt?

National Debt has increased more under Obama than under Bush

'The National Debt has now increased more during President Obama's three years and two months in office than it did during 8 years of the George W. Bush presidency.
The Debt rose $4.899 trillion during the two terms of the Bush presidency. It has now gone up $4.939 trillion since President Obama took office.'

National Debt has increased more under Obama than under Bush - Political Hotsheet - CBS News

So...Obama increasing the debt in 3.17 years more then GWB did in 8 years is your idea of Obama increasing the debt 'only slightly'?

    Noted.

And I will ask you again about food stamps.

You typed food stamp usage went up under Obama: 'Only slightly from the Bush years when the huge increase occurred.'

    Yet:

'When President Bush took office in 2001, there were 17.3 million people on food stamps. During his last full year in office, 2008, there were 28.2 million on food stamps -- an increase of 10.9 million – or a 63 percent increase over an 8-year period.

But from the last full year of Bush’s presidency (2008) through 2011, just three years into President Obama’s presidency, the number of people on food stamps increased 16.5 million -- going from 28.2 million to 44.7 million -- an increase of 59 percent in just a 3-year period.'

44.7 Million Americans Now on Food Stamps -- More than at Any Time Under Bush | CNSNews.com

So, under Obama, food stamp usage has already gone up almost as much in only 3 1/2 years then it did in GWB's entire 8 year run...and yet you say it has gone up only slightly?

    Okaaaaaaaaay.

To sum up, since Obama took office in January, 2009:

    - the unemployment rate has gone up
    - the workforce participation rate has gone down (as reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics)
    - those on food stamps have gone up over 40%
    - the price of the average house has gone down
    - the national debt has gone up more since Obama took over then under GW Bush's entire 8 year run

Are ANY of these highlighted statements untrue, Catawba...YES OR NO?

    As previously documented -

"Here are the facts, according to the official government statistics:

    • In the 2009 fiscal year — the last of George W. Bush’s presidency — federal spending rose by 17.9% from $2.98 trillion to $3.52 trillion. Check the official numbers at the Office of Management and Budget.

    • In fiscal 2010 — the first budget under Obama — spending fell 1.8% to $3.46 trillion.

    • In fiscal 2011, spending rose 4.3% to $3.60 trillion.

    • In fiscal 2012, spending is set to rise 0.7% to $3.63 trillion, according to the Congressional Budget Office’s estimate of the budget that was agreed to last August.

    • Finally in fiscal 2013 — the final budget of Obama’s term — spending is scheduled to fall 1.3% to $3.58 trillion. Read the CBO’s latest budget outlook.

Over Obama’s four budget years, federal spending is on track to rise from $3.52 trillion to $3.58 trillion, an annualized increase of just 0.4%."

And I will ask you again about food stamps.

The increase under Obama was due to the Bush Recession, what was the even greater increase under Bush due to?
