Team USA To Be Decked Out in Uniforms Made in China

 I don't care who MADE them - they look stupid as ****ing hell. . . . what are they suppose to be? Runway models - GQ? Geesh - could have done something more . . . ah - less form fitting or something more manly?

Harry Reid almost pops a vessel over this. Apparently he would rather have American athletes appear in the games nude.

But made in China is the American way, Harry.

Yeah what is he thinking, Obama sent billions of the stimulus overseas, and he's popping blood vessels over this.

I have ACUs from American Apparel and Propper Int. I'm not sure about Propper, they are an international company.

My old BDU say Ammerican Apparel. My Molle tactical vest is from Tacoma Wa.

Propper makes uniforms in the US out of material manufactured in the Dominican Republic, but they do have a Chinese subsidiary called Genuine Gear.

You want the woman dressed like men?

Somewhere in the world, waiters at a yacht club are baffled by the contents of a package containing what they thought were their new uniforms...

The saddest thing (to me) is that these could have been made domestically. They would have been (maybe) better quality and would have cost more, since Americans insist on getting over $7 per hour.

Because money is EVERYTHING in America, we will always choose to save a buck on things like this even though we cheerfully waste TRILLIONS on fattening our bankers and politicians.

Thats why we aren't going to recover from our weak economy. We aren't competitive and we aren't patriotic. Most patriotism is in our words, never our deeds. Until we become poor enough to compete with China (and others), we will only produce US Dollars which the whole world runs on. That product should keep us going for another 20 years and in the meantime we can focus on pre-marital sex, abortion tights and school prayer - the things that REALLY matter.

Good grief©

They will get over it. The Olympics is when every American can offer the pretension of giving a damn about buying American for a week, before sinking back into normal habits.

You think this can go on for another 20 years huh. I dunno, the bad stuff should have happened already.

I don't see how this is a surprise. we gutted our domestic textile industry because US labor is "too expensive."

Am I the only one who just couldn't care less? They're made in China because most clothes are made in China. So what?

Only during the Olympics does it matter to close yourself off from the rest of the world in jealousy...in an event that sponsors international cooperation and peace.

so what-our table tennis team will be using equipment made overseas-often in China or Japan
our tennis and badminton team's racquets are all made in China or Taiwan
the Shooting team's rifles are made in Germany (Anschutz) the shotgun team mainly Germany (Krieghoff) or Italy (Beretta-Vince Hancock-defending olympic champion or Perazzi). The air rifles are German made-Feinwerkbau or Anschutz or perhaps Swiss-Hammerli
our track team's shoes-God knows where-Vietnam, China,
the swimsuits-I believe America
NIKE Is the official competitionwear supplier-I own a bunch of nike stuff-mainly for tennis and table tennis-don't see much made in USA.

It;s not just that.

The USOC is not funded by the government but lives off of Corporate Sponsorships and apparel sales.

Buying from China is cheaper. Which means there is more money to support American athletes.

What matters more, wearing clothing made in America that will only be worn once OR racking up medals?

People need to get some damn perspective. I'd be appalled if they went with an American manufacturer and it cost them sending more Americans to compete.

THis is by far the dumbest ****ing thing I have ever heard a politician whine about. Harry Reid is a ****ing moron and so is anyone that gives a **** where these are made.
