It was a huge security failure but I can't agree that you can somehow pin this on the President. It's pretty hard to imagine that Bush was told about an imminent attack and said "naw, don't worry about it".

It was a failure between our so-called Intelligence agencies. Most of the upper ranks are political appointees, not true intelligence operatives. They jealously guard their little empires and worry about getting credit.

Personally, I thought Bush was as dumb as a box of rocks and I hated the sight of his smirking face. However, I can't possibly think he was directly to blame for the events that occurred. For using those events to create a war in Iraq for the primary purpose of looting the country by his friends, yeah, I do blame him for that.

It's because the president is an easily recognizable figurehead, and the first person everyone turns to in the face of disaster or attack. It's mostly due to ignorance, prime example being the heavy blame placed on Bush for Mayor Nagan's utter incompetence during Hurricane Katrina. Domestic security and defense prior to 9/11 would have been up to the CIA, and FBI. Not former President Bush.
I love the NSA. It's like having a secret fan-base you will never see, but they're there, watching everything you write and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside knowing that I may be some person's only form of unconstitutional entertainment one night.

9/11 was the result of an intelligence and political failure that spanned two administrations. I'm not sure how much good it does to ascribe especial blame to one or the other. Suffice to say we should move forward with any recommendations the intelligence community puts forward.

No concerns that recommendations put forth by the intelligence agencies might be self-serving?

You're a leftwing talking point. When you obtain an MBA from Harvard and become President, come talk to me about rocks okay?

So maybe the saying that Bush was warned about the 9/11 attacks isnt a "conspiracy theory"after all.. And yet he ran on that he "protected us"? More like one of the biggest security failures ever done by our intelligence community and the executive.. History will prove that Bush is one of the worst presidents ever.

So was Clinton. A bipartisan screw up. How shocking.

It's actually much worse than bungle. If you read Woodward's book about Bush during this period it claims that Tenet's first response after hearing of the attacks is "I hope it's not those guys in the flight school". What made it worse is the investigation into how it happened got throttled trying to coverup the incompetence at every level which has given rise to all kinds of theories. Ever listen to atc recordings on youtube... The only people who seem to have a clue was Boston ATC. The people they called... Yikes did they have their heads up their a**

One of the most frightening things about 911 was that VP Cheney went down into the WH bunker BEFORE the attacks happened. He made some lame excuse like " I just wanted to see what it looked like."
Things like that do make you wonder........I am still afraid of another Republican in the WH. It would be too easy to "miss" another plot and reap the benefits like Bush did.

I'm not an expert on the topic but I do have a few questions based on what I do know

    * Cheney in the bunker saying the order still stands. In the testimony the order appeared to be the order to shoot down planes but the military jets were headed in the wrong direction so something doesn't add up

    * The passport they found several blocks from the world trade center. Did you see the crashes how the hell does a passport survive that?

    * Who financed their flight training and living expenses? According to the commission financing wasn't important so they didn't look at it

    * Why did cheney and bush refuse to testify separately as was requested?

    * Atta lived with a stripper and did coke like a wildman and he's a devout muslim?

    * Why the hell did Barbara Bodine get promoted to a position in the Iraqi Provisional Council? She f***ed up the cole investigation that may have lead to atta. She is an absolute horror of a human being that will be back in government if she's not already back.

I'm not a so called "truther" because I haven't seen enough to make me draw the same conclusions they do. However, I have much more respect for them than people who think the 9/11 report answered all questions and it's wrong to challenge the conclusions they reached. What I find ironic is many of the people who mock so called truthers are the same people who believe Bush didn't lie about "weapons of mass destruction".
