You know, I am so tired of hearing the word "whore" when talking about a female who has never or is not currently employed in that profession. If there's anything that gets my goat, it is the way the liberals seem to think it is OK to denigrate women of all walks of life with sexually degrading terms. If I could, I would jump in the mud and throw back some sexually derogatory words for men, but um, guess what?, there aren't any!!!! Hmmmm...that's one of the perks you get for being the biggest baddest gender in the monkey house I guess.:thumbdown

A friend of mine got caught with some pot in the Great Smokys NP, was given a $250 ticket and told to leave the park until the the ticket was paid. He wasn't even escorted out of the park, but hiked out on his own.

if he got caught on state land it would have been a $100 fine, that's it! (if the cop didn't just stomp on his weed and let him go)

His fine would have only been $125. That's not the point. The point is that he was a British citizen applying for immigration status and the fine would have destroyed his opportunity to stay. He was given preferential treatment by the Justice Department. A lot of people feel that he did the Obama campaign's dirty work with his constant attacks on the Palin family and theory that the Governor's down syndrome baby Trig was actually mothered by Bristol.

Bristol kind of reminds me of Britney Spears... they try to put on an act like they are good girls, but then the screw it up from time to time. Neither of them were perfect sweethearts, and Bristol is just as likely to get involved with the wrong man and have a big divorce just like Brit. Putting on an act doesn't make them immune from such things, and I think Bristol is attracted to bad boys. She must be confused right now.

I think Bristol and Sarah will say things just for money. I remember how Bristol went against abstinence and totally did a flip flop and said she didn't say any of that stuff, then she started getting a paycheck from Candies to promote abstinence. I guess that organization was so upset to see her going against conservative principles, that they bought her opinion.

I'd watch. I loved the Sarah Palin's Alaska reality series. It was like visiting their beautiful state and getting to know acquaintances better with the aid of technology.

Let's be honest about it. Gov. Palin and now her daughter make their money through notoriety. IMHO having a reality TV show is an honest living, lucrative and gives them name recognition and/or reinforces the following they already have to advocate for issues important to them outside of the TV shows. Good for them. In Bristol's case, this is her second realty show as she was also a popular contestant on ABC's Dancing with The Stars last year if that counts.

Just got around to reading through all 19 pages. I think you guys are waaaay too harsh on Bristol. As I recall she became pregnant at best as a result emotional exploitation by someone she adored. At worst, she submitted to peer pressure giving into underage drinking, he got her drunk, took advantage of her while she was unconscious which led of her becoming sexually active and the rest is history. Because of what IMHO can only be described as hostility driven by political motives she was vilified for sharing the details of her relationship leading her to publicly exonerate him for any wrong doing taking full responsibility for the consequences of her adolescent behavior herself. I think he should have been prosecuted but I wasn't there and that's just my opinion. Nevertheless, if you ask me she's a good girl who let her emotions override sound judgement.

I caught bits a pieces of last night show. It seems like the theme is she made poor choices and has to live with the consequences. Life isn't over but its not easy either. Families can come together and be a strength to each other when in need. It seemed to give hope to young girls in similar situations and/or to encourage them not give into the pressure she gave into. She came across as intelligent, responsible, a great mom and yes beautiful.

If so, then explain why Bristol Palin's trying to make money is any different than anybody else who participates or watches crap like this.

Pretty much. But I do have minor experience with being "spotlighted" in public, and so I really can see, although I did not make this decision lifelong myself, deciding to go for the money if you're going to be spotlighted whether you like it or not just because of your parents.

For one, she whines about the media. She then signs on for a reality TV series that features her and her son. To me, that speaks volumes.
