And so all of this is a proxy attack on Sarah Palin.

What I find sad is that a thread that has devolved such as this one has could reach ten pages. I don't like seeing politicians' kids gone after, and I don't care what the party or lean is. Sure, Bristol Palin has put herself "out there" now. That doesn't mean any of us have to stoop to ugly, malicious comments about her that are really only a proxy attack on her mother.

I mean, really--do you feel good about yourself slamming a 20-something kid who's made mistakes and embarrassed her parents and all the rest of it? Whether it's Al Gore's kid being popped for weed or Alexandra Kerry being busted for DUI or Chelsea being homely when she was kid or the Bush twins being "sluts"...is this really, really necessary?

I didn't compare her to Palin. How can you compare a 60 year old to a 20 year old? I simply mentioned that an opinion given earlier about Palin was similar to my opinion about Caroline. I would like to know how you formed your opinion of her classiness as she has lived her life in private and her privacy has been respected by the press. Up until she sought the press lights when she thought a senate seat was about to be placed in her lap.

You're inferring a favoritism by the press. Typical right wing pap. The press lives and dies by even the slightest Kennedy fart. The Palins are hardly even rookies by that measure. She has avoided the press by living a straight life. Her behavior says it all.

I think the reason the Palins get flack is that they constantly want to splash their faces across the tv screen. As bad as the Kardashian clan.

This isn't some politician's kid being hounded by the paparazzis. This is a family who hounds the tv screen. First you had mom's reality show, then Bristol dancing with the stars, now you have Bristol's reality show and Todd's reality show.

If you don't want people to treat you like a clown then don't put on the big oversized shoes and red nose.

Who you calling a loser? I didn't think personal acts were allowed here, maybe you need to read the forum guidlines.

The point here is that if your family acts like a traveling clown troupe then don't be surprized if people consider you all to be clowns.
I can't think of any other political family who would subject themselves to a low level tv show class shared by the likes of the Kardashians.
