    Have you been drinking?

What is a "pry suit"? Why is it hot? Are they always hot? What is a "swi"? Why is a swi as hot as a pry suit? Why are both of these things together, the swi and the pry suit, which are both hot, bull****?

What is a "minute shot"? Is that a mixed drink of some kind?

I support this, but damn, there will be problems arising...

You have to positively identify your target before pulling the trigger in any situation (we call it P.I.D.). The instant you see a badge, you do not have PID. When the cop announces himself, you do not have PID.

Do yourself a favor and make sure you know where your friends stand on this before inviting them over, otherwise, should you pull a gun on a cop, they may draw on you.

This law is a good thing. If a cop is breaking into your property he or she should be treated just any other burglar or home invader. Criminals also pose as cops. I think because of this law it will stop no knock raids because I am sure no police officer wants to risk busting in on a home, getting shot and no legal punishment for the individual who shot them.Cops should knock on a door, present their ID and warrant detailing what they can and can't search before coming in. I really don't give a rats ass if this gives someone enough time to flush drugs down the toilet, these types of crimes don't warrant fully armed police raiding a home.If its a hostage situation, police standoff or similar situation the police are already going to make themselves known.Because they don't want to bust in and the suspect shoots the hostages. If they are going to arrest gang members then they can't leave the house without the cops noticing.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

Some really good information at that link. Just the tip of all the issues with police acting 'above their pay grade' and disregarding the law.

I support the new law mentioned in the OP.

Re: New Indiana gun law allows residents to shoot police

Last year, the Indiana Supreme Court found that:
Hoosiers have no right to resist unlawful police entry into their homes
    .

Now we can shoot upon unlawful entry? Interesting.

Sure, people should have the right to defend themselves against unlawful entries even by police, however how often does that happen that a law needs to be made in order to make sure legal protections are given to citizens in such cases? It would seem that common sense from a judge would be enough to assess whether a citizen acted with a demeanour that wasn't malum in se.

There have been a number of cases recently where the wrong address was on the search warrant. As a result the SWAT team broke into the wrong house at 5:00 AM. In some of these cases, innocent people have been killed.
