Ted Nugent explodes at notion he's not a moderate

Nugent has help wounded soldiers, cancer patients especially children, etc, etc

That means you have to look hard at your life and be honest with yourself. ... What have you done to better, the life situation of a cancer patient?

It matters not what I think or anyone else things a far rightie is. What do any of the things you brought up have to do with Nugent NOT being a far rightie - whatever I think it might mean?

Helping wounded soldiers.... helping cancer patients .... helping kids .... NONE of that is political be it right, left or center.

You can do all those things and still have a political position anywhere on the continuum.

Don't even start with a comparison of me and Nugent. While I was wearing the uniform of this country and fighting in a war, he was showing up for his draft physical, having **** and pissed his pants and stopped all personal hygiene so he could be certain of failing.

I'll be happy to tell you. They are the kind who trash the President in disgusting and vile language and stop just short of threatening to kill him. They are generally gun nuts and racists who think all of the problems in this country could be solved if only we could go back to the days when white folks ruled the country and minorities knew their place. They believe in this fiction that all government - but especially the federal goverment - is evil and the richer you are, the better you are as a person. I could probably come up with a few more FAR RIGHT characteristics, but that's a start. I'm not talking about all of those on the right side of the political spectrum - I'm talking about those on the FAR RIGHT. Those who think lowlifes like Nugent are folk heroes.

vocals and songwriting is what he is known for.

I view a guitar player as one who plays in the band. I am not really big on three minute mastaburtory solos designed to say "hey look at me". That is what Nugent did over and over again to get attention. His work within the song was merely adequate.

I would view Wayne Kramer of the MC5 as far better during that same time.

Wayne Kramer is damned good too..i'm not a huge fan of MC5, but their stuff wasn't bad at all.

you're the first person i've ever heard of that discounts solo's as part of being a good guitar player... that's .. umm.. a very odd metric.
 
All I want to know is -- who would not shower for a month, and evacute their bowels and their bladder in the pants for said month, just to get out of being drafted. That's just mind-boggling.

They are just self indulgent - as are most rock solo's. They usually are not even a true part of the song .... just an excuse to put somebody front and center and let them go off by themselves for a few minutes. And that is what made Nugent famous.

are you going to crap all over Hendrix because of his Solos?.. Eddie Van Halen? Yngwie Mamlsteen? Roy Clark? ( yeah, I know he is not a rocker, but he's still a great), BIlly Gibbons? Eric Clapton? Kim Thayhil? Robby Krieger? Duane Allman?

We all judge by our own standards. I tend to judge a guitarist by their performance as one of a larger band. The same with drummers. The same with keyboard players.
