[h=1]FBI: 5 Men Charged in Ohio Bridge Bomb Plot[/h]
Five men described by federal authorities as anarchists angry with corporate America and the government were charged Tuesday with plotting to bomb an Ohio bridge linking two wealthy Cleveland suburbs. The men were arrested Monday night after unknowingly working with an FBI informant for months, a strategy that federal investigators have used repeatedly in recent years to nab alleged terrorists.

Got 'em.

Good job, FBI.

Now these anarchists are pretty damn stupid....

They look rough:

I just got home and haven't really read much into this story, but at least one of them was an Occupy Cleveland protester.

My thoughts exactly. They look like a bunch of noobs to me.

On a serious note, good to see them dealt with.

You can tell by looking at them that these gentlemen had a well thought-out plan. Real criminal masterminds, right there.

Building a bomb and setting it off on a bridge isn't rocket science.

Uncovering an undercover FBI agent is a bit more difficult, apparently.

We can only hope the system shows leniency and compassion for these brave young men who were willing to do something in the name of social justice much the same as our teacher and sage Mr William Akers...

Read the FBI Affidavit. We here in Cleveland are VERY upset; we thought we were too small a target for terrorism and we have MANY bridges and far too few cops to watch them. There are believed to be other, active cells and it matters not what these guys looked like; had they succeeded, thousands would have died. They planned to time the explosions for heavy drive home time.

Please...don't ridicule our fear. It is VERY real. I listened to the evening news tonight for the first time in ages.....these guys got WAY too close to "succeeding" at their evil plot.

I thought about Oklahoma City, Ground Zero, the Pentagon, Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland.....I thought things I imagine every Clevelander is thinking tonight. It's almost impossible to go anywhere here and not cross a bridge. One, Valley View, is famous for its length and the number of footers needed to support it.

BRECKSVILLE, Ohio - The Brecksville-Northfield High Level Bridge, the target of a foiled terror plot, is used by thousands of drivers daily. Now, five men are behind bars for trying to blow it up.

Construction on the five-span bridge was completed in 1931. The bridge connects Cuyahoga and Summit counties making it a very well traveled connector. It spans the Cuyahoga River and the Ohio Department of Transportation said nearly 14,000 vehicles depend on it every day.

Underneath the bridge is the Cuyahoga Valley National Park and the Towpath Trail, an extremely popular area for people who love the outdoors. More than two million visitors each year walk, hike and fish in the area.

But just steps from the Towpath Trail Monday night, the FBI said the five men planted what they thought were explosives underneath a column of the bridge and tried to set it off remotely. The men were then arrested by undercover FBI agents who were monitoring the group by video.

"I take it personally, I really do. I don't like it, I don't like it at all," said Marty Bialec of Broadview Heights, who walks several miles along the path daily. "I'm very mad," Bialec said.

FBI agents said the public was never in danger. They were tipped off to the clan in July and have been monitoring them ever since. A one-time criminal turned tipster was paid $6,000 by the FBI to help them track and crack the case.

Thousands of people use targeted Brecksville-Northfield High Level Bridge every day

So, $6,000 and a former criminal saved us, and while I thank the FBI, I shudder to think -- what if he had demanded $1 Million?

Occupy Leaders Apparently Involved in Bridge Bomb Plot, Suspects Named

Apparently two OWS organizers were involved in this: Brandon Baxter and Anthony Hayne. Bad PR for the OWS folks.

"Bad PR" will be the least of their problems. These guys will all do LWOP, and they'll be someone's bitch the rest of their miserable lives.

And personally, I don't want to hear any defense of the OWS Movement ever again. THIS is anarchy, and anarchy was ALWAYS their real goal, IMO.

**** you. How dare you.

Tonight, of all nights. You are a human with no humanity.

You are in my Iggy Bin -- enjoy the Gulag, asshole, because I NEVER want to read one more word written by anyone this cruel.

They were going to use smoke bombs until the FBI informant said he could get explosives, it is unfortunately entrapment.

We don't have all the facts yet, but the FBI undercover apparently switched out the dynamite or whatever they wanted for harmless material. They ATTEMPTED mass murder, and they will die in prison.

This case has absolutely nothing to with entrapment, which is police actions that induce a law abiding person to commit a crime.

these things makes no sense to me, globalism (lowering of immigration and trade restrictions) IS anarchism. I have always suspected these black hooded anarchists are secret fronts for different organizations, probably the globalist corporations themselves as false flags.

I am unsubscribing now. My family could easily have been on that bridge; or a friend; or a neighbor. My kind and bright brother I adore; my daughter, who makes the sun rise every day. I'd never have survived their loss.

It is just too hard for me to discuss this more, and I have said what I think needed saying by a Clevelander tonight.

Thanks to Dittohead for starting this thread, and I hope you'll understand why I am bowing out here.

Would you like to try William Ayers. LOL

Disagree.... unless the Fbi said "you should blow up the bridge instead" etc. They would be entrapment. Saying "I can get explosives" is not. They could have always said ."nah, we just want the smoke bombs"..... but the didn't. Not entrapment

Good catch on the FBI's part.

Wait - those guys can't be terrorists.

They're not brown-skinned, middle-eastern, Mohammed worshipping, camel-jockeys wearing towels on their heads, and burlap dresses.

Surely there's a mistake.

I seriously hope the guy on the top left was going to do the wiring on the bomb, his eyes are looking in different directions.

sigh. violence is never a legitimate method for protesting this sort of thing. i hope they get the maximum punishment.
