This gov is an idiot...he was asked a question and he uses the question to go on a rant that Govt employees are corrupt...why is he an idiot ? Simple, state employees have nothing to do with the fees or the requirements, the board of cosmotology does that....Every state has lot of fees and requirements to get a cosmotology license. In New Jersey it costs a fortune and you have to take a written and Performance test...in the performance test you have to SHAVE A LIVE PERSON WITH A STRAIGHT RAZOR...when is the last time any of you have seen a Hairdresser shaving someone with a straight razor...they make the requirements tough and expensive to limit the number of cosmotologists...like the real estate industry does and many other industries...It has NOTHING to do with the competence of his states employees. In florida my wife has to take a written test every time she renews her license and pay a fee.
This is another example of Republicans attacking the working class and another reason im not a registered independent.
At a town hall-style meeting in Newport on Thursday night, Republican Gov. Paul LePage was asked why there are so many fees associated with getting a cosmetologist license.
n response, the governor said state government is too big and too costly and that the state workforce is part of the problem. LePage told the crowd that he has control over appointed state workers, but has little authority over middle managers and other unionized state employees. "The problem is, middle management of the state is about as corrupt as can be," LePage said in remarks first reported by MaineToday Media.
