Speaking of revelations, the Grand Poobah of the Church had a revelation that black people could actually become church elders just about the time that BYU decided to become a football power. What a coincidence!

Now you know I don't care how folks run their religions. They can dance to the light of the moon and worship peanuts totally naked, as long as the police don't arrest them, they don't scare the horses in streets, and I don't have to watch or participate, have at it.

I do, though, care about the "Rule of Law". Once you lose that it's pretty much chaos.

Way to try to distract from the real conversation. This isn't about race relations and you know it. It's about someone not following the rules. Nobody ever answered the question I posed - what would happen to you if you broke the rules at work? Because that's all this is really about, if you take the emotion out of it. Somebody broke the rules at work and they are pissed because their contract isn't renewed.

If the Catholic church institituted a rule that said you couldn't work for them if you married somebody not of your race, would that be OK too - after all, its one of the 'sacred rules'.
If I worked for the Church and they said that that was one of the rules, I'd follow it. If not, I wouldn't expect to have my contract renewed.

They are called rules of the workplace. Familiarize yourself with them.

For what it's worth, Wiggen, I'm not one of the ones "babbling" about the Church rules, as you so eloquently put it. I am, however, "babbling" about work rules. It's not about the Church for me. I'm not even Catholic. I just understand that rules are expected to be followed in the workplace, and she didn't follow them.

You don't need to have a building to have church. Individuals are to be held accountable for their actions; not the whole.
So Webster's Dictionary is wrong then? Really? Keep digging.

Actually, you've proven my point on post #174, definition 3.

Don't let the fact that I clearly wasn't using that definition get in the way of your apology.

Wow, just wow. Here I thought you were simply being obtuse. You really can't comprehend the subtleties of the English language and have no concept of semantics. Thanks for clearing that up.

You may not have been using that definition, but in the process you've inadvertently proven me correct, in that all members of the congregation are the church. Definition #3 that you provided directly applies to the issue we're discussing, and completely validates my statement.

Dude, give it a rest. You were wrong. Just admit it and move on.

That's intellectually dishonest. Through the course of this discussion you haven't effectively supported your argument, and instead has accidentally proven my point. This is why you should slow down and use more accurate words when making a claim. You have not proven me wrong, you arguments have repeatedly been weak, and you you refuse to acknowledge your simple mistake on this issue. The congregatiom is the church, and the sooner you acknowledge that the better for all involved.
