Senate votes to abandon budget control act

Yeah, that's often used as the reason we don't need them. The power of encumbancy is so strong that getting a sitting Congressman voted out of office is a very difficult thing to do. It shouldn't be. Eight years and out. Then, maybe in their 7th and 8th years they'd actually vote in the best interests of the American people instead of their own.

The "incumbents" are the political parties not the candidates.

So how would creating a new place for citizens to "peaceably assemble", away from the morally corrupt and conspiring 4 largest political parties that exist now, sink the country exactly?

You're gonna have to give me an example of the "new place for citizens to "peaceably assemble", away from the morally corrupt and conspiring 4 largest political parties". I haven't a clue as to what you mean and how this would work.

Yeah, told you so.

another non-solution.

The real solution is to create a new political party but you're all too lazy for that.

The problem is we have about two too many political parties now. We'd be far better off with no political parties and with strict term limits, no terming out in one job and then going to another.

I'm sure a Libertarian would think that way considering how much they failed with their try.

"new place for citizens to "peaceably assemble"" is a new poltical party

"morally corrupt and conspiring 4 largest political parties" is the Democrat/Republican/Green/Libertarian Party that agree on all the real issues that actually effect your life.

Interesting the partisan spin put on a dozen Republicans voting to increase funding to the Postal Service.

Many times the Republicans have refused to vote for a bill in the Senate and thus blocked it.

So rather than blame the democrats for seeing a need to increase the budget of the USPS you really should look at the 12 who went along. it tells me either the 12 saw a real need to set Party Dogma aside and tend to the People's Business, (Arbo, what do you think of my using 'The People'?) or they are closet democrats as many super right wing in here claim.

The problem with these sort of agreements is they come when both sides refuse to compromise so formalized 'rules' have to be made to get anything done.

Problem with these formalized rules is like battle plans, they collapse at the very first contact with reality. ;)

Rather than have two sides so entrenched in their party crap they refuse to be rational about where we are, how we REALLY got there, and what to do for the good of all.

Oh I ain't holding my breath, just marveling how some on the Right will go on and on about those damn Democrats, with barely a word about the Republicans who made it possible. Remember without 12 Republicans going along this NEVER would have happened...

Sounds like Utopia. Yes I'd like a party/group where folks could agree on what's best for the country as a whole.

But I'd bet, if you and I set out just a couple of the things we think are the most important, i.e., "cut the budget, stop all spending until we have a blanced budget stupids", we'd be in a disagreement.

Considering the Democrat/Republican/Green/Libertarian is one party, than an extra party would simply be putting the US political system back into a 2 party system instead of a 1 party system. Why is that "Utopian"?

You can stay in the Democrat/Republican/Green/Libertarian Party if you like.

Partisan bickering on the fake/small/inconsequential issues that don't effect your life, they agree on the important issues that do effect your life.

No kidding? They've figured out how to bring down unemployment, balance the budget, stop illegal immigration, and put an end to the wars in the ME?

Here all this time I thought they were arguing about crap like abortion, gay marriage, and whether it's worse to have once eaten dog meat or having put one in a pet carrier on top of the car.

I don't know if the "Democrat/Republican/Green/Libertarian Party" would consider themselves a party. They can't agree on anything and throwing another party of a few people into the mix would only make the problems worse. JMO.

No kidding? They've figured out how to bring down unemployment,

They are all free traders

balance the budget,

They all increase the deficit, one side refuses to raise taxes, the other side refuses to cut spending. The mathematical effect is exactly the same.

stop illegal immigration,

One side wants votes and to "brown America", the other side wants slave labor. The mathematical effect is exactly the same.

and put an end to the wars in the ME?

Same

Here all this time I thought they were arguing about crap like abortion,

Don't effect me, I'm male.

gay marriage,

I'm not gay, don't effect me

and whether it's worse to have once eaten dog meat or having put one in a pet carrier on top of the car.

Don't effect me.

They are of one mind on all the important issues that actually effect your life.

A selfish, if egocentric, point of view. How are things in the land of bitterness and despair? Your political philosphy looks to me like equal parts nihilism, victimization and dont give a ****. How do you get out of bed in the morning with that outlook on life?

hahahaha, no, it's a point of view devoid of group identity.

Oh so these things affect your life? Are you planning on a gay marriage, planning on having an abortion, or are planning on slaughtering the neighborhood dogs for meat?

Well you seem to think everything is a duality, one or the other. Its almost never quite that simple.

I did not say I neccessarily did, I just found your responses to be as I described them. Like your posts, its an opinion.
