Bachmann: Obama 'Waving a Tar Baby' on Gas Prices

Well after a hard days work carrying around faggots, I feel a bit queer, so of course I do.

Nothing in the world like the gay feeling I get while sucking a fag. Although if I hot box a fag I sometimes feel queer.

If I were a politician, I would be using the term "tar baby" all the time. Not, because i'm a racist, but because I love the fact that it bothers the left so much.

Once again libs play the race card to distract from real issues. Same S*** different day, yaaaaaaaaaaaaawn

I think there should be a congressional investigation to determine if Obama really is a tar baby.

Am I horrible for my mind immediately going to this:

TarBaby.jpg

Your mind reverts to obscure MGM-like style cartoon drawings from the 1950s? And here I thought my mind was full of useless information....

Funny how you did not mention the relevant definition provided at your link:

While I am sure she meant it by the definition your provided, it is a painfully stupid thing for any politician to say.

How is the definition I posted not relevant if we both agree that that's probably what she meant? I looked at a couple definitions and the primary definition was always something similar to what I posted. I don't think she should have used the term either, but, like with Rick Perry talking about the deficit being a "black cloud" and Newt calling Obama the food stamp president, it's starting to get a little ridiculous all the things conservative (would we even be talking about this if Joe Biden or Nancy Pelosi said it?) politicians are just not allowed to say. Shoot, even Herman Cain took flak for saying the best way to beat Obama was with a Cain, obviously using a play in his name, but that didn't stop people claiming it was a racist comment.

The left looks for any hint of racism because it is an easy way to discredit their political opponents. The intellectual dishonesty of such an approach never stops them though.

Maybe the problem is Conservatives like to use words with racial overtones and then don't like it when it's pointed out?

Or maybe it is just that leftists like you see racial overtones where none exist. As you have demonstrated on this thread, it is easier to smear ones ideological opponents than it is to engage them in serious debate.

"tar baby" is hardly a common term, precisely because it has loaded racial overtones. Frankly, I call bull**** on any excuses that it wasn't meant racially.

Bachmann is terribly stupid or racist or both.

Or maybe it is just that leftists like you see racial overtones where none exist.

You mean they see racial overtones when words with racial overtones are used? Well if you wish to pretend.

You admitted earlier that you had never heard the word used before, now you are an expert on the racial overtones the words supposedly carry. To make matters worse you then engage in the most petty of partisan attacks by smearing all conservatives as racists because a single conservative uses a phrase that is viewed by mindless leftists as racist code words. That is pathetic by any standard.

You admitted earlier that you had never heard the word used before,

Yes, that doesn't mean the word doesn't have racial overtones. I've never heard the word "bluegum" either. Apparently it has racial overtones.

now you are an expert on the racial overtones the words supposedly carry.

1. Not an expert.
2. It's not "supposedly" if the word actually carries it.

To make matters worse you then engage in the most petty of partisan attacks by smearing all conservatives as racists

Straw man.

because a single conservative uses a phrase that is viewed by mindless leftists as racist code words. That is pathetic by any standard.

The only thing pathetic here is your reverence to logical fallacies, straw mans and feigned outrage.

Point out the logical fallacies, the straw men and the feigned outrage in my posts. If you need help defining those terms, let me know.

Are you insinuating its a two way street :)

Maybe you'll like this usage: the war criminals Bush and Cheney sure grabbed a tar baby in Afghanistan.

So, is that racist... Or is it only racist when the president is black?

I did. Here is one:

You admitted earlier that you had never heard the word used before, now you are an expert on the racial overtones the words supposedly carry.

You concluded from me not knowing the background word, and subsequently realizing that it does indeed carry racial overtones, that I am an expert in words in racial overtones. This is called a "non sequitur". Now, it doesn't take an expert to point at the definition of a word, nor am I an expert in words with racial overtones, so how did you reach the conclusion that I was an expert in them?

Do you even read or just assume? Is reading not a skill practiced on the right?

Most people have said time and again that she probably didn't mean anything racial, but should have used better judgement in her choice of wording. Do you disagree that it was an unfortunate use of words?

So, is that racist... Or is it only racist when the president is black?

You can't be real. A term that is racist towards black people...and you ask if it's racist when applied to a black person? Wow, that's dumber than when Barbara Bush said yes to marrying that drunken coke head election stealing war criminal husband of hers.

People who are making apologies for her maybe. I'm not. PS I'm conservative.

I didnt make the claim that you were "an expert in words with racial overtones" so the one employing the straw man would be you.

I wasnt addressing "most people" nor was I addressing you. I was addressing a specific poster and his specific attitude. As for Bachmans comment, I have not defended what she said. I have simply pointed out that those who attempt to tar (can I say that word without offending someone?) an entire group with what one individual has said are engaging in a smear.
