So this proposal would bring in 4.7 billion dollars a year each of the next 10 years?

Do you people realize how fast this country spends 4.7 billion dollars?

Its idiotc, moronic and populist tripe to advocate for more taxes without mandated spending cuts. All increasing taxes does is tell a bunch of crack addicts...here...more crack!

And should ANYONE be shocked that 7 in 10 approve? Hell...people ALWAYS approve of things that have no relative bearing on THEIR lives. I would love to see those figures if the increases included a tax increase on the 47% to make them actually pay A share, let alone their 'fair' share.

I dont think thats the motivation for being for the buffet rule...There has been much evidence produced lately that shows the Richest Corporations pay zero taxs the richest individuals pay less than people making a pittance compared to them and CEO pay and bonus have soared while everyone elses wages have stagnated gone down and they have lost benefits...
I think its viewed more as its about time they pay what they should have been all the time instead of whining incessantly they are paying to much.

Pretty fast. We have a huge deficit, of course it will be gone. But when you have a deficit you need to find ways to fix that.

It's pretty irrelevant. It's not an issue that will cause people to go out and vote. Yes 7 out of 10 people support it but 7 out of 10 people won't vote for Dems and Obama because Republicans blocked this.

It is interesting when a poll says more Americans don't like mandates in healthcare the 'conservatives' howl about the 'Will of the People', but not now!

Demanding cuts before returning taxes to a government sustaining level is a non-starter. The engine is starving now, demanding we battle over cuts before goosing the throttle is more a talking point than a sound position.

The two big budget items are care for the Citizen and care for the Empire.

It is easy see why the former is more popular with a lot of average Joes while the later has a limited but very powerful fan base.

The problem isn't it costs 'too much', but rather too much money is tied up away from circulation in the economy.

We're all affected by the massive funneling of money to the top. Or hadn't you noticed the massive deficit that the Bush tax cuts caused?

How can 7 out of 10 support it when 9 out of 10 don't even know what it is?
