It could have been a slight factor. There are banks in my town that prohibit people from wearing hoodies.

That is the evidence that we have.
As the Chief has indicated, there is no evidence that contradicts it. That is pretty authoritative.

Have you other evidence that says otherwise?
If so, please provide it to the Sanford Police.

Beside being hyperbole ,why has your side of the issue made it about the way he was dressed?
Zimmerman was suspicious of him before he pulled his hood up because of his actions, not because of the hoodie.

#1. the grass stains on Zimmerman's back suggests he could have been pushed from the front when Martin defended himself, or his floppy-sloppy weight caused him to tip backwards after confonting Martin.

#2. Considering how much they have ****ed up this investigation so far, I don't think Samford's Chief of Police is authoritative of anything.

Do I have to explain this to you?
His wet back (no slight intended) does not contradict his statement of being attacked from behind in the slightest.
All his wet back means is that that it is the position that he was in at one time.

I have a question.

If in fact young people that dress like a ghetto thug and people assume you are a ghetto thug.

Then why isn't there more talks about uniforms in public schools?

It seems to me like an educational system would want a law dressing all students alike during school.
So no student would "assume" to be a ghetto thug.:peace

As for me I treat people the way they treat me no matter if they are wearing a hoodie or not, no mater the skin color or their sex , after all all are human are they not?.:peace

Rivera is a pimp and trying to get attention. He ought to wait for the investigation to be complete. From what I have heard, the dead boy didn't put up the hoodie until he was engaged in evasion of zimmerman stalking him.

Now if he had gone into an often robbed convenience store in the summer wearing a long jacket and a ski mask and the owner capped him then GR might have a point.

that is one of the more rational arguments in favor of uniforms in public schools--the security or teachers can quickly identify someone in the school who is not a student

Geraldo's comments were never racist. On one level, he had a point... wearing a hoodie can change people's perceptions of who you are. What was over the top was the suggestion that the victim shared half the fault simply because he wore the hoodie. That was stupid.

I have yet to seen the parallel drawn, but it is apt: many rape victims wore seductive clothing. Wearing suggestive clothing can change people's perceptions of who you are, but never makes the rape victim at fault of a rape because she wore suggestive clothing.

I agree, however, in some cases-those being date rapes where the prosecuting witness and the defendant both agree that sex between the two took place, the clothing of the victim may be relevant especially if the defendant claims that the victim consented to sex. It happened in the William Kennedy Smith case where Patty Bowman claimed that on the night she had sex with Dr. Kennedy, she had no intention of "picking a man up" and instead she testified that she had intended to go visit a friend-the mother of a newborn and only after that did she decide to go bar hopping with another friend (Ann Mercer). Kennedy's witnesses testified she was trying to pick him up. That she was dressed in an expensive and very short dress and 60 dollar hose and expensive heels lent much credibility to Kennedy because as one juror noted-you don't wear a 500 dollar black dress and 60 dollar stockings if you plan on picking up a newborn baby given such creatures often have leaky diapers or the pukies.

did you know that Gerald Rivers is his real name-he's mostly Jewish but when he applied to law school he adopted Geraldo Rivera (he has some puerto rican ancestory) in order to gain preferential admission treatment. (as you know being Jewish doesn't get you affirmative action in Eastern Law Schools)

This is not true, his mom is jewish, his last name is rivera, not rivers. This myth was started by the nazis on his show where they broke his nose. His father was cruz rivera.

I had heard that so many times from so many different sources including some people far more moderate than any Nazis (I never heard them claim that-but Roy Innis made that claim as well-he was at the taping where the racists busted Geraldo's nose). but you Apparently are correct. Wiki reports he was born Gerald Michael Rivera but changed his first name to the hispanic sounding Geraldo on the request of WABC-TV news director Al Primo who wanted him to sound more ethnic
