How is it that some thing this kid was dressed as a thug?

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

We do not execute people in this country because we do not like the way they dress.

Or at least we should not if we believe in the law.
    the reply from apdst
No, we don't and Martin wasn't executed. However, people see you as you are. If you look like a ghetto thug, then people are going to assume that you are.

It could have been a slight factor. There are banks in my town that prohibit people from wearing hoodies.

I bet you don't wear overalls, a dirty baseball cap and Redwing work boots to work. Do you? Why don't you? Because you'll look like some ignorant hick that can barely write his name, not the chief of staff for a state legislator. Appearance is everything in our society.
You just described what I wear to work in my sawmill damnit. I demand an apology!

    No, they do not.

That is the evidence that we have.
As the Chief has indicated, there is no evidence that contradicts it. That is pretty authoritative.

Have you other evidence that says otherwise?
If so, please provide it to the Sanford Police.

    Sure it is.
And you know that if it contained anything that they could use against him they would.
But there is no evidence at this time that contradicts his statement.
He didn't lawyer up. He cooperated with the police.

Your characterizations are unfounded. And are untruths.

Anybody should be able to recognize that he could not have been of the mind or even had the time to concoct a lie that would have stood up against scrutiny.
And still there is no evidence that contradicts his statement.

Beside being hyperbole ,why has your side of the issue made it about the way he was dressed?
Zimmerman was suspicious of him before he pulled his hood up because of his actions, not because of the hoodie.
