    Hidden racism in Cuba

For all you liberal socialist types that think Cuba is your Utopia I suggest you watch this. The part that is really telling is the hip hop guy that isn't allowed to sing his songs about racism in Cuba. This is what Communism is, this is where we may be heading with the left wanting to shut up people like Rush. Anything that makes the state look bad is not allowed, is this really what you want? I just happened to watch this and it was very eye opening.

    Cuba is my vacation utopia
Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.

My uncle is sailing the world on a boat and stopped there. He said people came rowing out on inner tube rafts wanting to trade lobster for anything American, he traded an old baseball cap for 5 lobster.

Hahahaha either your uncle is a liar or you are. Lobster in Cuba is quite a delicacy and will set you back about 10-15 bucks(CUC) a plate in both Habana and Santiago de Cuba. So unless he was trading with fishermen who had down syndrome, he wasn't trading 5 lobsters for an old baseball cap.

Since when do liberals think Cuba is a utopia?

Our spokesperson Michael Moore has decreed it.

I don't know what to tell you except apparently anything American is of great value. If you ever actually go there you may have better perspective and won't be so quick to call people liars. Now on the positve side he said the people there were very friendly and seemed happy but my comment to him was they don't know anything better than what they have so their happiness may be blissful ignorance of anything better in life. So far though no comments on the show I posted, guess no libs really want to be informed on this.

I expect you to call me a liar and really don't care but calling my uncle who is only 5 years older than me a liar rubs me the wrong way. He did 2 tours in Nam plus went back for a special mission and is 10 times the man you are. A little research got me this and I will accept your apology any time on behalf of my uncle.

But the south coast of Cuba is truly remarkable for its abundance of lobster. Whenever we went snorkelling, there seemed to be a lobster or two under every coral head. Sometimes they'd be sitting right out in the open, virtually begging to join us for dinner. And if that sounds too good to be true, everyone we met wanted to give us even more lobster. The Cuban fishermen with whom we shared anchorages seldom asked for payment for their catch; their generosity was part of a culture of mutual "gifting". Usually they offered us seafood as a regalo (gift) and we tried to respond with something appropriate, although there were many times when they insisted that we give them nothing. Most simply wanted to talk and find out more about us and our different world; it was a rare occasion that curious fishermen didn't stop to greet us as they were passing by.
