Ben & Jerry’s replaces fortune cookies in ‘Lin-Sanity’ flavor after controversy

I read the fortunes in them but I don't eat the cookies... I don't like how they taste.

New York Super Fudge Chunk is the best flavor anyway.

This is so stupid.

That's stupid... His NAME has an 'l' in it. Don't you know the difference between Japanese and Mandarin for goodness sake... Rank ignorance at play here... Mandarin definately has an 'l' sound in it...

It was a joke, buddy. Even I laughed.

Well, I admit it's a ridiculous thing to get angry over, but I can see why some people are upset.

Imagine if there was an ice cream consisting of active ingredients including watermelon, chicken, and Kool-aid named after some black player.

If I were Black, I would not want some nasty flavor such as that associated with my name.

Yeah, because some people just must be intolerant of religion.

Intolerant of stupidity? Absolutely. Just like I'm intolerant of people who believe in Bigfoot, alien abductions and anything else for which there is no objective evidence. Call me a realist.

I don't think he realized I was messing around with him.

I think he got sensitive over the fact that you are unfamiliar with his asian culture ans stereotyped him.
Like an icecream I once tried.

I think this thread is wrapped up.

The irony is that you can go to any store right now and look in their party supplies section for St. Patrick's day decorations and I guarantee there will be something there related to beer. I once saw a "toy" beer mug, for Christ's sake. A miniature beer mug labeled as a St Patrick's day toy. As in for children. Little drunken mick children.

But we certainly can't associate Chinese people with fortune cookies. Nope. That's offensive.
