Guarantee that if Christians (antithetically) went against their teachings and started slaughtering people in the streets for acts against other Christians, we'd see apologies galore. That says something about Islam, Christianity, and society and how we treat these religions differently - and it ain't good.
Many liberals denounce Christians and their theology but remain silent by acts of violence by Muslims who kill Americans, as in this case. No liberal is upset or offended by Muslims who killed two Americans because Korans used by terrorists were burned? Yet the same liberals have no problem with someone burning the American flag because the practice is protected by the US Constitution.

So its OK for President Obama to apologize for Americans burning a religious document but remain silent about the deaths of two Americans whom he sent to Afghanistan to protect American interests abroad?

Do these divide and conquer subjects look familiar?

There are similarly worded threads on this forum!

Did the Civil Rights Act of 1964 strip Americans of their freedoms? Does a tiny cabal of Jewish families control international banking? Do interracial relationships have the effect of weakening both races? Are there natural ruling elites who should be governing society?"

Tell that to the grieving family and friends of the two troops that were killed. You're just too blinded by your partisan hate to give credit to someone who raises a good point.

Yes the party of the Republicans that liberated blacks from slavery and are still fighting to keep them free from the Liberal democrats that want to keep the ones in the inner cities enslaved to food stamps so that Libs can remain in power.

A true American would be ashamed of their country's invasion of Afghanistan (as well as Iraq). A fanatic would be unable to make that distinction between right and wrong, so it's really not a issue of ignorance, but of mental health.

As to Newt, of course he is a hypocritical liar (were he president, he'd be apologizing to the Afghans as well). Beware of the Kool Aid... it's addictive.

You really jumped the shark there... the North liberated blacks from slavery, and the North gave them civil rights (Act of 1964). Their oppressors and detractors continue, to this day, to be the South (hmmm... where is Newt from?).

    Karl,

So you think those who supported going into a-stan and stopping aq, are mentally unstable?

The Koran burnings were just the last straw. Afghans are sick of American occupations, bombings, checkpoints, midnight raids on homes, collateral damage, lack of respect for local law, continued hostilities, and support for a corrupt and incompetent government. The Taliban might have sucked, but the current situation is not exactly great either. The issue goes a lot deeper than "The rag-heads are too primitive to understand our enlightened values." As long as we hold this attitude, we will get nowhere.

Anyone who believes that apologizing for a mistake is a "sign of weakness" or "surrendering" needs to grow the **** up.

Did Gingrich get upset when Pres. G.W.Bush apologized for another burning during his adminisstration ?

    Oh, he wasn't running then.

    Never mind.
