Spooky ... are our votes really counted?

A story about some machines not being counted in Iowa reminded me of this story ...

"Voting in an election is very important as it will influence the future governance of your state and country. It therefore has to be carried out under scrutiny with none of the votes being tampered with. Ballot papers in a locked box are quite easy to keep secure, but how about voting digitally on a machine whose sole purpose it to allow for secure votes to be placed?"

"Researchers J. Alex Halderman and Ariel J. Feldman, from the University of Michigan and Princeton University, managed to buy a Sequoia AVC Edge, a touchscreen voting machine that was originally going to be used for the Williamsburg, Virginia primaries. It has apparently also been used in a jurisdiction with 9 million voters. Importantly, the tamper seals on the machine were still intact."

Does this mean I can vote for Pac-Man instead?

Great way to get the younger voters to the polls. Or would this draw 40 somethings?

And all we have here are jokes . . . :?

Pac-man is fun, but the fact that it can be installed in a "tamper-proof" voting machine is highly disturbing.

Just more proof that we should not trust the electronic voting system.

And all we have here are jokes . . . :?

Why do I joke? Becuase I can not take YouTube research all that seriously. We vote electronically. I see the options on the screen and I make my decision. I then see it register on the paper role and roll up into the machine.

What you don't see is that roll ending at a shredder, while the other roll you cant see says you voted the opposite way. What was the name of the Diebold executive who promised his machines were ready to deliver a second Bush term?

I didn't see it because it didn't happen. My wife is the city clerk and she has to get involved in cases of recounts and stuff.
