No, parliamentary systems aren't unstable. Countries that are unstable are unstable for other reasons - not because they use a parliament.

There have been presidential systems that are just as unstable, after all.
Also, we need to legalize recreational drugs and prostitution.

The UK has a parliamentary system. As does Australia, Japan, Germany, and Israel.

Venezuela has a presidential system. As does Uganda, Columbia, Iran, and Mexico.

Hey, here's a profoundly stupid comparison, probably as stupid as making too much of this photo:

And it speaks to no constructive point concerning what I said.

I said they can be, not that they automatically are. The French and Italian experiences post-WWII show this, as well as some 19th-century British moments.

It's just as stupid as your comparison of only presidential systems with stable governments to only parliamentary systems of unstable governments.
Also, we need to legalize recreational drugs and prostitution.

But, as Karl pointed out, presidential system can be unstable as well, such as the examples he gave.
Also, we need to legalize recreational drugs and prostitution.

Those examples were not, for the most part, unstable. Undesireable, sure, but then they don't resemble our government at all. (Which is one of the many reasons why his comparison was ridiculously stupid.) And I wouldn't even call Iran's system "presidential" anyway.

But I never said it couldn't be unstable (though our government is not). I do say that the mechanics of parliamentary system make it more likely that it will be, though.
