Drudge is reporting that ABC has the goods to destroy Newt. I'm happy to be honest, I do not like much care for Newt, certainly not as President.

I'll have to wait and hear it from the horse's mouth, because I don't trust Matt Drudge. We all already know Gingrich is a snake, though.

Why trust his ex-wife?

The prospect of a candidate being destroyed makes you happy? It's not enough that a candidate you don't like could be out of the race? I don't understand this.

Or the politics of personal destruction.

Re: Marianne Gingrich has said she could end her ex-husband's career with a single in

so they don't want to reveal anything before the SC primary. Shocker!

Re: Marianne Gingrich has said she could end her ex-husband's career with a single in

Do you understand who "they" is?

And just think about it--all the "excitement" building...the lurid speculation? Will what ex #2 says even matter by then, or will Gingrich already be "Cained"?

You mean like newt trying to destroy Clinton for his cheating while he himself was cheating? The republicans, in dealing with Clinton, defined the politics of personal destruction.

You're making this about partisan politics. I don't want to play that game; two wrongs...or three or four or five or "everybody else is doing it" doesn't make it right.

If ever any candidate deserved to be destroyed, it's Newt - the serial adulterer. Or is it only objectionable when it's Clinton?

And I'm sure you were at the forefront of defending Clinton while hypocrites like Gingrich were 'destroying' him.

Really? Ok. Do you think an ex wife has some insight into her husband's psyche? Remember, newt was forced out of office by his own party, so this really isn't partisan politics.

Marianne Gingrich has said she could end her ex-husband's career with a single interview.

Earlier this week, she sat before ABCNEWS cameras, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

She spoke to ABCNEWS reporter Brian Ross for two hours, and her explosive revelations are set to rock the trail.

But now a "civil war" has erupted inside of the network, an insider claims, on exactly when the confession will air!

MORE

ABCNEWS suits determined it would be "unethical" to run the Marianne Gingrich interview so close to the South Carolina Primary, a curious decision, one insider argued, since the network has aggressively been reporting on other candidates.

A decision was tentatively made to air the interview next Monday, after all votes have been counted.

Gingrich canceled a press conference on Wednesday to deal with the matter.

"He believes that what he says in public and how he lives don't have to be connected," Marianne Gingrich, Newt's wife of 18 years, explained to ESQUIRE last year.

Hah! Another example of conservative media bias!

I don't trust her, don't know her from Adam. That's not the point. You listen to what someone says and how they say it, then decide if you think they are telling the truth. I'd like to hear the interview, if there actually was one.

Re: Marianne Gingrich has said she could end her ex-husband's career with a single in

No, I didn't defend Clinton. Far from it. I have also not defended Gingrich, nor have I commented on Republicans vs. Democrats or who's done more/worse than the other party. In fact, all I have spoken of is the politics of personal destruction. This kind of crap is what disgusts voters no matter who's doing it. It's classless and destructive.

Re: Marianne Gingrich has said she could end her ex-husband's career with a single in

So when will she get on television and end his career then. It should be good television.

Agreed. Talk about the republican primaries has nothing to do with partisan politics

Oh, stop rolling your eyes. This thread isn't about the Republican primaries except tangentially--and maybe I've missed them, but I haven't seen any comments on the "ethics" of ABC's showing the interview or withholding it until after the SC primary.

It's not about the republican primaries? What do you think Newts career actually is at this moment?

Context helps.

She was stating that people were trying to make it about Party Politics by suggesting it was okay because Republicans tried to destroy Clinton. Nota was pointing out that bad is bad, regardless of who may be doing it, and trying to play the partisan game of "Your side did it so its only fair your side gets its own medicine!" as an excuse to support it is trying to turn it into partisan politics rather than caring about whether the act is right or wrong.

Intentional or not, I think you are misrepresenting the context. She said

all I have spoken of is the politics of personal destruction

She didn't say anything about the partisan game of "Your side did it too". My point is that all of it is already a part of partisan politics. No one here is turning it into partisan politics.

It's the republican primaries; by definition a partisan process.

Re: Marianne Gingrich has said she could end her ex-husband's career with a single in

It would be better television if they found out who talked her into doing this. After all his years in politics it is rather odd she is now coming out to speak.

Hint; this isn't the time for Democrats to pull out an Ace. One of the other Republican candidates has his mouth watering over Gingrich's voters.

Re: Marianne Gingrich has said she could end her ex-husband's career with a single in

Obviously she is fishing for someone to buy "her story" or she would have just told it. "Ex wife" is not a believable source and I have an overall problem with the premise of ex wive's revealing past marital secrets in general.

She wants to make a couple of sheckles; lemonade out of lemons. I don't blame her.
