Kelly Clarkson Loses Twitter Followers After Endorsing Ron Paul

I use to think open-discussion now was a sign of how we've changed towards politics in gneeral - I was raised under the belief that your political views were only yours and no one else's - and you shouldn't talk about those type of things with people (who you're voting for - etc)

Turns out: they both held opposing views so those values they tried to instill were because they wanted to try to get along with eachother without fighting and arguing about it.

Any celebrity who chooses to make their socio-political views known in the public arena must understand that there MAY be a backlash for doing so. It's really that simple. If you don't want to have that sort of thing happen, then keep your pie-hole shut on the political stuff.

Wow, I actually agree with Tigger. Now I must go shower.

Well....if you wanna know the truth....it definitely made me less of a fan.

I'm willing to bet her music is just as mediocre and boring as it was before her endorsement.

For the most part I view music and movies as escapes from the seriousness of life. I would prefer to not even know the political leanings of any of them. Notable exceptions when the purpose is intended to be political, such as Michael Moore's work, but then I know it's political going in because that's what he does, and I choose to avoid it. If an entertainer wants to espouse their political views, I'd prefer they do it as a regular member of a forum like Debate Politics, away from their "day job".

Art is about art. I don't give a crap what their politics are in nearly all cases. Unless they're some sort of violent crazy, in which case I may stop supporting them for fear my support of their livelihood will be used for violent craziness. But that extreme scenario aside, I really, really don't care.

I think it is really weird that we see entertainers as "role models." They're not. They're entertainers. Their job is to entertain you. Their politics and private life is irrelevant to that goal.

It's not that I think they shouldn't feel free to share their opinions. They're as entitled to free speech as the rest of us. It's just that I don't see why it matters or why I'd pay any attention to it.

That said, in the political climate we live in, it's frankly naive for her to not expect some sort of backlash for sharing her politics. That's just the way things are in this country right now. Those people should grow up and realize that her politics have nothing to do with why they supposedly like her - which is that she's an entertainer who succeeds in entertaining them. But she also shouldn't be surprised.

It's not about them as PEOPLE (to me) - it's about their entertainment value and whether or not they have any.

Of course it is.

Obviously she didn't have any because I didn't know who she was (and I even use to watch AI religiously - many years ago - slipped my mind completely)

But this comes from someone who likes Type O Negative, Puscifer and worships Trent Reznor like a God. What a teeny bopper like Clarkson thinks is actually HARDLY offensive to me - everyone has a RIGHT to their own opinion of who they support and don't support politically. But even with my taste - I don't CARE about their political views at all - in fact: for some of my favorite entertainers: I don't even know what they are.

I think it says more (Negatively) about those who judge her rather than she herself who supports a candidate because of SOME views she shares in common - she went against the liberal 'rich and famous' grain and people hate her? That's rather Unamerican if you ask me.

A problem - HUGE problem in this country is that people care TOO much about entertainment icons and not enough about the people who will make the big difference in this country when they're elected into office.

That is good for you. I've never even heard of the bands you're talking about - however if the people I listen to espouse a view I dislike, it's no different than a company I buy from doing something I dislike.

Well - you seem to care about what "they do" and I don't care at all what "they do" anymore than they should care about what I do. We just have a different approach to life altogether.

So I just don't get it - business is business. Entertainment is entertainment and politics are politics. I prefer to keep all of mine separated and not deny myself enjoyment because of politics - etc.

I think she lost them because she got fat.

Yeah, she's real ****ing fat, dude. What's your problem, the government steal your last humanitarian aid package? Do you need me to send you a handful of rice?

she is fat
not "real ****ing fat" but fat none the less

but for the record not totally unattractive physically and i wouldnt kick her out of bed but she is fat

Who cares? She's not a ****ing model, she a singer.

A good portion of Americans put a huge importance on how fat a person is. Note that they pretend it's about wanting people to be healthy, but it is mostly for vain cosmetic reasons.

And this is part of what is wrong with America.

for me its neither important, vain nor about their health its just stating the obvious

Actually, it's what is wrong with corporate advertising entities in this country. I don't see it stopping, unfortunately. Frankly, I think the ads featuring the model Twiggy started the trend of everyone having to be uber skinny. Before that, even with Playboy, women were portrayed in a far more realistic fashion.

The thing is, Kelly Clarkson is really not that fat. She's about average sized. People tend to forget what real women look like.

Not to mention that most of them are also considerably more overweight than the people they are criticizing and they complain that attractive women don't want to date "nice guys" like them.

Well clearly I do. It's not hard to be not fat, you know.

Dude, I'm not into waddlers, but I like women with meat on their bones. Fifteen to twenty pounds works for me. Rubenesque works for me almost every time. Women who are thin are great as well. It depends on the woman and how she feels about herself. Self-confident women are sexy. Intelligent women knock me out!

Here's a truism you might want to consider: Age happens. If you are fortunate you will experience an aging body. It is inevitable. When and were it happens is a matter of genetics. You obviously have no idea how enchanting women over 30 or 40 or 50 can be.

I have never liked implanted, botoxed, collagenized women. It isn't natural! A lady in her 40s, with natural curves, is really a subject of beauty. You obviously have no idea.

The celebrity world is not real. Playboy is not real. Worship of any of that is idiocy. True beauty lasts forever.
