Obama threatened, called 'monkey' by ex-Carson council candidate

Your ridiculously ignorant logic would suggesting if I started a that criticizing Obama's Health Care Plan and in it I called him the n-word, and you pointed out how dumb it is for me to call him such, that you are really just "deflecting" attention from his health care plan when in reality you're just dealing with the stupid things I said in the thread.

Wow, thanks for the insanity lesson. Are you serious? Posters on this thread have taken the position that calling Obama's children "monkeys" in the same sentence in which the same guy called him the N word and called for him to be assassinated could be construed as something other than racist? And you have the temerity to suggest my logic is ignorant?

Pass me whatever it is you're smoking please. That's some good **** right there.

He [Top Cat] has a pretty good point there... lol.

I wouldn't lay that on the Tea Party's doorstep. True, there are a few nuts there, but they don't represent the whole movement.

Sometimes it's hard to tell -- when people are so overzealous and hyper-partisan, when attacks are so overly-broad and not directed at specific policies, it has to come from somewhere.

Only the shadow know what evil lurks in the hearts of men... Reading between the lines, I'm inclined to believe there's something more beneath the surface, and more than a few have worn their racism on their sleeves and signs...

No, he really does it. At the point in which he suggested that people were "deflecting", specifically accusing VanceMack of it, there was only one person saying that it MIGHT not be racist (and acknowledge that it could be) and that was PRIOR to it being pointed out that the guy also stated "nigger" in the same sentence.

Since the point that the "nigger" comment only one person has made the accusation it wasn't racist, and even that person has backed off that. Even still, he's been getting shredded by people on both side of the aisle for trying to turn this into a "its just like Bush and a monkey" thing.

Not to mention, at the time of my post actually being here there was no one in the thread defending what the guy stated, and only one person who stated that it MIGHT not be racist and that was prior to the "nigger" comment being made clearly known.

Last of all, it doesn't take into account that his reply was to vancemack stating, after liblady made it a point to type in big bold letters every political affiliation the guy had as if it was relevant to the story, that its ridiculous to attack an entire giant group of people based on the actions of a few nutjobs. That was apparently "deflecting and defending" according to Top Hat what the guy said, which is ridiculous. It was simply pointing out that as stupid as this guy was, attempting to smear tens of thousands of people based on his singular actions is ALSO ridiculously stupid. Commenting on the actions and statements people place within their own post is not "deflecting", its addressing their statements.

Wonderful...

All people against the Iraq war want George Bush murdered, and all occupy wall street people are all anti-semetic rapists....its obvious if you just read between the lines. And if you're an extreme partisan hack. If you read between the lines AND are an extreme partisan hack, it's quite obvious.

See, if you stick to just the facts, you don't have problems. But blaming this or trying to combine this with the tea party all people will see is that retarded bit. The Tea Party is not racist. It's platform is not racist. If he is a Tea Partier, it is still entirely irrelevant to the story. When you go for all out stupid in the OP, you ruin any chance you have of making a point.

My position has always been that the Tea Party comes out with these far-fetched baseless hyper-partisan attacks on the first Black President. What's behind that? I have to guess and read between the lines. What motivates people to come out so viciously against this president, since day one?

Then when people who identify as members of the Tea Party make racist statement or bring racist signs to the rallies, I factor that in as well.

Redress: Has anything I've said, in clarifying where I'm coming from, unfair?

**There has been a measurable backlash against this President that started before he even took the oath.** I am curious about the motivation behind it.

**There have been racist sings at TP rallies**

**What this guy said is racist, he identifies as TP**

Do you not question the extreme partisanship coming from the far-right? When their base can't even articulate his policies, any LOGICAL person has to ask--then what is it?

FACT: Their Platform is all over the place. The only constant is 'get rid of Obama'.

Hazlnut, you are seeing what you want to see, just like some are seeing OWS as a bunch of criminals. You are doing the exact same thing.

I personally agree with you. I just think it's a waste of time to debate it or even mention it. You can't "prove" it.

I made an effort to clarify my position, give you an honest answer and asked you if what I'm saying is unfair.

I think I'm owed an honest effort on your part.

What an absurd crock of feces!

Good Lord. I can only imagine that heaven and earth must have to move before you'll admit you were wrong.

The following is in the OP's quotation.

In a comment on the Facebook post, Manson added: "Assassinate the [president] and his monkey children." He used an obscenity followed by a racial epithet to describe the president

Really? You're going to defend them even though that was on the original quote? Really?

At the very least you should be suggesting that people read the post before making an ass of themselves.

Sometimes I just dont get why this **** lasts more than one or two posts. Yes...the guy is a moron. Yes, the comments are racist and indefensible. Yes, it is equally idiotic though somewhat less despicable to use an idiot and his very obviously racist comments to then slap labels on everyone else somehow loosely affiliated.

I also agree with this...

But this happens time and time again, with 'loosely' affiliated, and people at the top who run the websites.

Like the other poster said, proving that the majority of TPs have racist tendencies, Impossible. But identify overt messages and subtle undertones is fair, no?

The so called 'liberal' & 'leftist' is analyzed, defined, and identified 24/7 on RW media. They speculate and guess at sinister motivations behind everything Obama and the Dems do.

At least with the TPs, we have these overt and in your face examples of what we believe is behind their agenda.

Sure. Therefore pointing out the idiotic statements of a fair sampling of democrats means we can and should label democrats, especially when we specifically look for the worst examples possible to 'prove' the point?

You mean this guy...this...what was he again...a failed candidate...provides you an 'overt' example of people in the Tea Party? horse****. Before this obscure racists twatwaddle made his idiotic comment and posted it on Facebook you wouldn't have been able to spell his name, let alone know who he was or pick him out of a line-up (and I'm not altogether sure you can now).

Good Lord. I can only imagine that heaven and earth must have to move before you'll admit you were wrong.

You have a pretty poor imagination. I admitted I was wrong in the midst of a debate on this very forum yesterday. I have no issue admitting I'm wrong, when I'm wrong.

The following is in the OP's quotation.

I know this may shock you, a lot of people skim over the news blurbs for what the OP is saying and the general gist of the story. Its unfortunate, but its common on this and most other forums I've been on. A quick reading could make cause someone to think that the second sentence is referring back to the "monkey" statement as the racial epithet. Liblady clearly and blatantly laid it out, and I'll fully admit that I didn't fully realize that was what his statement was until I saw her statement.

Really? You're going to defend them even though that was on the original quote? Really?

Based on the context of Tess's quotes, yeah...it seems clear she missed that part.

At the very least you should be suggesting that people read the post before making an ass of themselves.

Well yes. And I've had no issue going after those that are trying to make this out as if it wasn't a racist comment. Pointing out people making stupid accusations, like your accusation towards VanceMack of "Deflecting and defending", doesn't preclude me from pointing out other stupid statements as well.

What the guy said was abhorrent, both for threatening the President and for the racial slurs and for the attacks on the children. People attempting to slur thousands upon thousands of people based on this one mans actions, or people wrongfully suggesting individuals are defending this guy, are also acting rather abhorrent.

I wonder what failed presidential candidate and democrat David Duke thinks of Obama and how quickly we can or should label all democrats based on such loose associations.

Yet another thread that paints a far more despicable picture of the OP than the people he is attempting to schmear.

David Duke switched parties, to Republican, in 1989... :/ Not that you're throwing in any red herrings but just thought you should update. Eventually, all racist Democrats go Republican...

Well if only I followed you around in search of eternal wisdom?

This is the entire quote. Yeah, all of 5 sentences. So easy to miss stuff here. Seriously? And here you are still defending stupidity.

Jules Manson, who ran for office on a Libertarian platform in the Carson race in March, called Obama a "monkey" in an online screed on the passage of the National Defense Authorization Act. The act has raised the ire of activists because it permits indefinite detention without trial for some terrorism suspects. In a comment on the Facebook post, Manson added:
"Assassinate the [president] and his monkey children." He used an obscenity followed by a racial epithet to describe the president. The post had been removed from Manson's Facebook page Tuesday, but the blog Your Black Politics captured and posted a screenshot of it, including the coarse language.

Pointing out people making stupid accusations, like your accusation towards VanceMack of "Deflecting and defending", doesn't preclude me from pointing out other stupid statements as well.

I stand by my accusations. that is precisely what he was doing. Funny, he hasn't said a word.

What the guy said was abhorrent, both for threatening the President and for the racial slurs and for the attacks on the children. People attempting to slur thousands upon thousands of people based on this one mans actions, or people wrongfully suggesting individuals are defending this guy, are also acting rather abhorrent.

WTF does that have to do with what I said? Oh wait, NOTHING.

Sure. Therefore pointing out the idiotic statements of a fair sampling of democrats means we can and should label democrats, especially when we specifically look for the worst examples possible to 'prove' the point?

Label them what? Democrats with whom I don't agree? Nothing wrong with that.

I already conceded, the point can't be proved. But we can ask, what is behind all the harsh and often false attacks? AND, we can identify the overt cases as well.

You mean this guy...this...what was he again...a failed candidate...provides you an 'overt' example of people in the Tea Party? horse****. Please don't put words into my mouth -- I said his speech is overtly racist. It's in your face. And there is no a way a logical person can argue otherwise. It's another example of someone in the TP making a racist statement. How many other feel the same way but keep it under wraps?

Where did we leave off with the Tea Party is / is not racist?

My university was in Carson, CA. 50% black. I hope this racist, teabagger, scumbag gets what's coming to him.

I read the secret service has already paid him a visit. Lock him up in county jail overnight, he'll be the belle of the ball.

I don't quite get your post - was he involved with the Tea Party? Am I missing something? Enlighten me - I'm lost

Probably a ton... but they save it until there is a black conservative to unleash their racism on. (Oh...sorry...you just meant how many people that may or may not in some way be loosely affiliated with the 'Tea Party'...right? My bad...)

What: like black racists in the Republican party don't do it either?

Come on - it ALL goes ALL ways - racism knows no bounds. It's just that ****ing stupid.

I don't quite get your post - was he involved with the Tea Party? Am I missing something? Enlighten me - I'm lost
Why sure...because apparently this guy is a well known darling of the Tea Party. Mind you...no one here has even so much as HEARD of the guy...but...apparently...

"Perhaps he's setting up the platform for his next endeavor, which he says will be a run for the state senate's 28th District seat next year -- as a Democrat"
Assassinate Obama, Says Jules Manson, Nutter Politician: He Calls President, Family Monkeys (And Worse) - Los Angeles News - The Informer

......"Perhaps he's setting up the platform for his next endeavor, which he says will be a run for the state senate's 28th District seat next year -- as a Democrat"
He can run (if he isn't in jail or a convicted felon by then), but I seriously doubt he will able to gain the nomination.

or they pretend to be young money millionaires...right?

Pretend? Haha. Okay there. I don't know if Democrats who switch to Republican pretend to be young money millionaires, but I know David Duke is now amongst the circle of Dixiecrats who now define themselves as Republicans. Don't be sore about the matter. Your information was outdated, tis all.
