Occupy Protesters Have Blocked Access to Three West-Coast Ports

Whats left to discuss? Unemployed activist leftists pretend to 'stick it to the man' by further annoying and inconveniencing working folk. Once again...mindless ****heads miss their target by looking down the wrong end of the barrel. End thread.

I'm sure many of them are students, and some of them just took a day off from work.

If they're students then they should have been in class. If they're workers then maybe they should have been at work rather than wasting everyone's time and interfering with other people's ability to get their work done.

vacation days are there for just this purpose: to take a day off for personal business.

though, I will state that OWS did recommend folks to take a "sick day" in order to go protest, months ago. I responded to this on Facebook, stating that this would be an abuse of the hard-won rights fought for by Unions decades ago.

so "OWS" recommended people lie in order, if that doesn't demonstrate something.....

I don't consider keeping me (or any other worker) from doing their legitimate job to be anyone else's "personal business". I consider it to be a personal assault, to be honest with you.

that's fine. any worker who is kept from going to his job due to civil disobedience, is welcome to press charges.

those charges will be laughed at and tossed out, but they are still welcome to try. :)

I am so glad to see you support infringing on others rights for a dubious cause.

Dubious cause...in your highly biased & bigoted view.

if it wasn't for civil-disobedience, black would not have the right to vote down South, Segregation would still be legal, abortion rights would not exist, etc etc.

By all accounts & understanding of history, civil-disobedience and the evolution of society go hand-in-hand.

Who's talking about pressing charges. I'm talking about showing up and doing whatever I have to in order to report for work. I'm not losing a day's pay because someone wants to step out in front of my car and get themselves run over.

Almost a decade ago I nearly had to cross a Union picket line as a Contractor for the company I currently work for. A certain Union member informed me that I better not try to do it. I informed her that if she (or anyone else) stepped in front of my car, I'd run them down like a squirrel. Thankfully it didn't come to that as the contract situation worked out. I am now a Union employee and have told the Officers of this Union that while I would picket, I will NEVER, under ANY circumstances prevent a legitimate employee from getting to their work station. Scabs, yes. Legitimate workers, NO.

interesting hypocrisy there.

yes, I am bigoted against lazyness and stupidity. #ows seems obsessed with it.

I think it is quite an anti-intellectual stretch to compare #ows of dubious causes to the civil rights movement, to me it simply demonstrates ignorant hubris and delusions of self importance.

The Civil Rights movement fought injustice.

Much of what OWS is fighting, is also injustice.

"entitlements" are not "justice".... Comparing these protesters to what blacks went through in the civil rights era is a shining jewel of colossal ignorance.

See? Now you're just projecting. OWS is demanding that Wall Street be held accountable for the damage they have done to our economy & the middle-class. How is that an "entitlement"???

They also want the government to tax people more, they also want the government to pay for thier student loans, they want the government to give us single payer, they want, want, want.

Though they barely blame the government for giving thebanks bailouts, but instead blame the banks for taking it, no strings attached.

Can I hold the lazy and welfare abusers accountable for the damages they have done to our economy and government? Or does that make me a bad person because they are "poor"?

They also want the government to tax people more....

now you're being dishonest, cause you know they want the wealthy 1% to be taxed MORE...while they want the Middle-class to be taxed LESS.

as far as their other demand, I am not in complete agreement. but their calls for more common-sense regulations upon the financial industry are spot-on.

[Someone keeps posting my thoughts before I do, lol. But yeah, I definitely agree with your posts.]

If you cant expect them to pay 'their fair share' for the resources they drain from society, I dont know how you can get away with holding them accountable for anything else...

sure, feel free to hold Welfare & Medicaid abusers accountable for their crimes. call your local Assistant DA if you have any abusers you want to drop a dime on. when did I ever suggest otherwise?

But is it just the 1% they want to tax more? What about the 5%? they change their numbers as they have no clue about what they really want.

I missed those calls, can you link them?
