Occupy Protesters Have Blocked Access to Three West-Coast Ports

This is ridiculous..... I have never understood things like this. A bunch of flesh and blood people stopping trucks from getting into a port facility? Must be some damn big people to be able to stop a semi-truck from running their worthless asses over to make a delivery.

that or a reluctance to commit vehicular manslaughter might be the issue..... but no, you could be right. :doh

I'm slightly north of that, and i think I'm in the "5%" I could be wrong, I'll have to check.

LOL - I'm way south of that but people still hate us because we're full of wholesome awesomeness in every bite.

And yet some people wonder why the OWS morons deserve to be in protest zones and cages...

It doesn't cost much to gather 'em up. Consequences should be relative to the act. Look, I'm not real good at 'turn the other cheek' or 'forgive' or that stuff; I've walked away from long-term relationships. But the consequences need to be in the same realm as the act.

Somewhere, some time back, in one of these various threads, I stated that as far as I can tell, the “Occupy” vermin, in general are “takers”*who resent not being allowed to take as much as they perceive themselves to be entitled to, from the “makers”; and that ultimately, all honest, productive, working Americans are the intended targets of the “Occupy” movement. It's not the 99% against the 1%; it's the 47% against the 53%.

I think this latest stunt proves that I was right. The people most hurt by this stunt are not the mythical “1%”; they are productive, honest workers, just trying o make an honest living. They would be among the “99%” for whom the “Occupy” vermin claim to be fighting; yet the majority of them probably had a very negative view of the “Occupy” vermin even before they found their own livelihoods under direct attack by these vermin.

I don't think anyone should believe the obvious bias you espouse over these protesters. Whether or not in this incident they are right or have gone too far; overall your arguments and posts on the subject have not been enlightening nor have they been particularly useful to debate.

Do you really concern yourself with every chipmunk, squirrel and other rodent you hit in the road? I know that I don't. These OWSers are rodentia, nothing more. Run them down and be done with it.

You would not be able to run over people with a semi-truck. It's just easier to imagine someone else doing that. Give it up.

Port truckers support the OWS action.

One part of me, kind of thinks this is the wrong way to go about effective change...then again I seem to remember this small minority of people who went to a port, and destroyed an entire ships merchandise...sounds familiar....something about being taxed without representation...

Then they should be fired for failing to do their job. That's a terminatable offense, even in a union.

"Supporting" something is? No. That just means they have an opinion.

But you must remember grasshopper.... There is no "I" in Union, regardless of the English spelling. As a union steward myself I am well aware of that.

T
his does not seem to be popular within the Longshore workers union. Does not seem to be very well organized or didnt really have a lot of steam behind it. I still support the move and cause however.

What is the cause then?
What do they plan to accomplish by blocking down the ports and preventing working class folks from making their deliveries?
What do they plan to accomplish by making a lower-middle class worker go without pay?

not showing up to work for one day, is not a terminatable defense in a union job.

True, but showing up for work and not doing any IS. At least in most unions.

Maybe you should check their website instead of being lazy and asking her. Don't worry, I did your research for you:
If you haven't figured it out by now Commienique, I am a supporter of someone explaining how they view something.... not finding the script answer for the question myself.

It gives me better perspective on THEIR arguments in a forum setting.

So, uhh... five carefully selected truckers claim they support the actions..........

I wonder if they are the ones losing money today.......

This is just machismo. Otherwise you would have been in prison for aggravated assault with a vehicle a long time ago, big boy.
