With a notable exception being teenagers, I don't know any gay people who are "oppressed." I do know a lot of gay people who are happy, well-adjusted, successful people with families and hosts of friends who adore them. Interestingly, their homosexuality isn't their raison d'etre; it's just a facet of who they are. In my world, nobody cares who's straight or gay. Are you a decent person? A good neighbor? Someone who pulls his/her weight at work?
