It ain't easy being green, but according to Fox Business, Kermit the Frog and his Muppet friends are reds.
Last week, on the network's "Follow the Money" program, host Eric Bolling went McCarthy on the new, Disney-released film, "The Muppets," insisting that its storyline featuring an evil oil baron made it the latest example of Hollywood's so-called liberal agenda.Bolling, who took issue with the baron's name, Tex Richman, was joined by Dan Gainor of the conservative Media Research Center, who was uninhibited with his criticism."It's amazing how far the left will go just to manipulate your kids, to convince them, give the anti-corporate message," he said."They've been doing it for decades. Hollywood, the left, the media, they hate the oil industry," Gainor continued. "They hate corporate America. And so you'll see all these movies attacking it, whether it was 'Cars 2,' which was another kids' movie, the George Clooney movie 'Syriana,' 'There Will Be Blood,' all these movies attacking the oil industry, none of them reminding people what oil means for most people: fuel to light a hospital, heat your home, fuel an ambulance to get you to the hospital if you need that. And they don't want to tell that story."

Maximize the apparent silliness by saying "Muppets are Communists, Fox Says"... when in reality what certain people were pointing out is how many Hollywood movies, including the recent Muppets movie, cast the oil industry or corporate America in general as the enemy.

The antagonist business interest has been an age-old archetype. Again, it has nothing to do directly with the political slant of the writers. It's a plot device, it moves the story along. Sheeesh...

it is a bit odd that the oil industry is always cast as the enemy...well, not odd... just ,well, stupid.

but it's silly to say the Muppet are Commies.

The big evil cooperation plot line is nothing new, I don't know why they are surprised. I'm guessing they are going to blast "A Christmas Carol" next.

you are right, it's not new....which is guess makes it a good thing to keep doing, ad nauseum.

I'll bite, how many?

The most popular villains of this year ARE:

1. Voldermort

2. Decepticons

3. Blackbeard and the Spaniards.

4. Lord Shen (Kung Fu Panda)

5. The police in Fast Five

6. and Vampires or Werewolves...

In order to buy their theater back from Tex Richman, the Muppets get the gang back together and put on one last show. They sell this idea to a TV network who agrees to air it when their top show, Punch Teacher, gets sued. Real bunch of communists there....

SPOILER ALERT.

They fail to raise the 10 Million, but Tex Richman gets hit in the head with a bowling ball accidentally thrown by Gonzo and he has a change of heart.

Are the jackoff idiots on Fox News really serious...???

Dave Grohl plays the drummer for a Reno lounge act called the Moopets.

Always, eh... Here's the top movies of this year, can't find one...

You mean commies who sell their TV show idea to a network and then go into production???

BTW, Tex Richman was also going to manage the Moopets and that's why he wanted the rights to the Muppets characters...

These kind of "Movies are biased" type of complaints make me shrug. I felt the same way when the left was going on and on Transformers being a propoganda tool for the military, or when Iran suggested 300 was anti-iranian propoganda.

Actually, the subject line of a kids film could and should have been something other than corporate America. Alice in Wonderland and and Snow White type plots lend more opportunity for greater fantasy and story line. On either side of the isle this is supposed to be for kids. Before they know it they will not be kids and they cannot go back. I raised my kids with the idea that every day should be magic because from the end of childhood to the grave much of living is decisions and responsibility. It is sad how we subject our kids to make them think like us. "#$%& us!!

It's less about the muppets being commies and more about the screenplay writer being lazy and pushing a liberal cliche of a story.
