I'm cynical, I admit it. A homeless, pregnant teenager is at high risk for a miscarriage from the get-go. Inadequate food, no shelter, most likely little or no pre-natal care. Even in the best cases, a significant percentage of first pregnancies end in miscarriage. Now we have a homeless, pregnant teenager attending a protest that has already had police clashes in the past weeks, allows herself to be positioned in the middle of a mob upon which police are fast approaching... incredibly dumb.
Then she miscarries nearly a full week after the incident, and her first thought is, "lawyer". Her second thought is probably that after the lawsuit, she won't be homeless any more.
Yeah, I'm skeptical. If she truly wanted that baby, it's tragic that she lost it. However, in my opinion, if she truly wanted that baby she wouldn't have put herself in that position to begin with.
