UC Davis Studentsí Eerie, Powerful Protest Against Pepper-Spray Chancellor

UC Davis Students' Eerie, Powerful Protest Against Pepper-Spray Chancellor

UC Davis' Chancellor Linda Katehi scheduled a conference yesterday to address the campus pepper spraying incident by Lt. John Pike. Students were not allowed into the conference, and Katehi waited for hours inside of the building because she perceived the protesters outside to be violent. When she finally left the building, she was greeted hundreds of students, but not in the way you'd expect.

This video gives me goosebumps, it's so powerful. For those who think that youth activists are stupid, without cause, disorganized, or should just "get a job", you need to watch this.

They should probably be pepper sprayed... you do see them all sitting there like that right? Kind of violent looking, what else could the cops do?

Apply the deadly, brutal pepper spray. Dispassionately. At point blank range. It took many, many minutes for the victims to recover from it.

Those women were very uncomfortable. Powerful statement. Silent intimidation.

Interesting, though...The only time they have one voice is when they don't have any.
The devil whispered in my ear, "You cannot withstand the storm." I whispered back, "I am the storm."

I was wondering how long it would take for someone who completely misses the point to comment.

Silence can be very powerful...The one time I knew I was in trouble when I was a kid was when my mom and dad didn't say a word. I was generally a really good kid, but one time didn't end up staying at the friend's house I said I was staying at...that next morning...I knew I was toast.

    Silence can say A LOT.

Pepper spray can and has been responsible for death. If one of those protesters had a heart or lung condition and died that would be unacceptable, in my opinion. But I know you're just being joking and trolling, so that's fine.

The Health Effects of Pepper Spray - Health Blog - WSJ

Grab a bunch of habaneros and grind them up and rub them in your eyes, nose and mouth (and get a little in your lungs if you can) and tell me how many minutes it takes you to recover. Then keep in mind that habaneros cap out at around 350,000 scoville units - while police pepper spray is around 5.3 million scoville units.

Please do this and then report back to me how quickly you get over it.

Only because they're both stupid enough to be UNARMED. Those of us who go ARMED in public would never be intimidated by those sorts of worthless sacks of trash.

it seems like the "big brother is watching you" is being reversed on big brother himself. with all the people having video cameras on them 24/7 makes it hard for officials to spin the information imo.
