Christie is worried about this case, he knows there are many more in Que and some of those are a certainty he will lose. He wants desparartely for all these lawsuits to be pushed back until after his re election. Obviously there are others that have other ideas. Christie like other Teaparty Supported Govs that viciously attacked and blamed their public workers as the villains that caused their deficits are finding that it may not have been as politically positive as they thought it would be. GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The New Jersey Supreme Court today plunged into a simmering legal battle between Gov. Chris Christie and the state’s judges over how much they should contribute to their health insurance and pensions, leading him to lash out at the justices and question their motivations. The state’s highest court — which has come under attack by Christie on several occasions — drew his wrath this time by choosing to bypass an appeals court and take up the case itself.
He accused the court of making a rush to judge, and called the justices "unelected, unresponsive public servants" and "the exalted elite."

The only reason I can think of that one side or the other wouldn't want a case sidetracked is that one side knows they're going to lose.

I believe christie believes hes going to lose and hes scared of the precedent it will set with dozens of public worker lawsuits right behind this one....this fight has just started...
