Two women accused Herman Cain of inappropriate behavior

Depends. Most view male prostitution in terminology as a "gigolo" not a whore. Even those men who are called whores are called "man-whores". In a practical view, (leaving language out of it) they're the same.

What about the ladyboys in Thailand?

Does apdst realize that every liberal here would absolutely LOVE IT if Cain were the GOP opponent in 2012?

I'm waiting for Ted Nugent to get into the race.

race card.

The conservatives on this board definitely pull this more than any other liberal I've ever met.

I don't know about that. There were a few hundred decks of race cards pulled by liberals regarding Obama.

I imagine him shooting his bow and arrow into a flaming target before each press conference.

I just want to hear about some real sex scandals.

And I wonder whose picture would be on that target? ;)

What do we think, was this story drudged up by the media, or by Romney or Perry?

It's tempting to pick Obama or democrats, but I think they'd love to have Cain as the nominee.

I wouldn't pin it on the Democrats simply because at this stage of the game, before the primary, the candidates try to slander the other candidates within their party. I get the impression most candidates wait to go after the other party AFTER the primary because it makes more sense strategically.

That said, it was probably a combination of media + another candidate.

Oh, I agree with you. Whether the charges were sexual harrassment or inappropriate sexual behavior, he took the gloves off on this one. So, it's now up to the women to risk coming forward to confront the issue. Risky move...he'd better hope it doesn't backfire on him though.

Ah! The plot thickens...

Per this Politico.com article, seems Herman Cain is gambling that the two women who accused him of inappropriate behavior want to tell their side of the story but can't due to a gag order.

Cain, in an appearance on Fox News, insisted that he couldn't answer whether he would ask the National Restaurant Association to waive a confidentiality agreement with a former employee who had accused him of sexual harassment in the 1990s.

"There are legal implications if the Restaurant Association waives that. I just found out about this today; there are legal implications" involved, he said, adding, "We can't answer that right now. It's too soon."

He insisted he hadn't already waived it, saying he never used names and that he didn't know the name of the second woman at all.

His comments came after the woman's lawyer, Joel P. Bennett, told The Washington Post that she wanted to tell her story but was bound by a nondisclosure agreement with the National Restaurant Association from when she left. He also suggested that Cain had basically waived confidentiality with his own description of the woman.

Whatever the legal underpinnings, Cain demurring on whether he would ask the association to release the woman guarantees he will face more questions about the issue.

I'd say it's a matter either of who blinks first or how long Cain can dodge questions on this matter.

Gutsy post. I would have proof but the media wouldn't.

No proof, just gut instinct. BO won his state seat in IL by digging into his opponent's legal records.

If you're referring to former Illinois Senator Jack Ryan, it was reporters from the Chicago Tribune and WLS-TV who expose his divorce records, not Obama.

Jack Ryan, Obama's GOP opponent, had had portions of his divorce files sealed, just as (Blair) Hull had. And when the Chicago Tribune and WLS-TV decided it was in the public interest to sue for the opening of Hull's file, they looked around at all the other candidates in the Senate race and discovered that Ryan had sealed a portion of the public records in his split from his ex-wife, Hollywood actress Jeri Ryan.

Try agan...

Who do we think exposed it to the reporters?? Naive.

Now, yeah. I don't know what the numbers will look like a year from now, but Cain is a contender. He's also more black than BO and has better executive cred.

You Cain fans crack me up!

You beat up on Obama for being a community organizer and for his brief experience as both a state and U.S. Senator, but you're so gung-ho over a guy who hasn't lead a company for over a decade!

If you really understood what went into the decision-making process, you'd realize that being a CEO and community organizer requires the same types of skill-set.

- Both require you to be a good communicator.
- Both require you to make sound decisions whether strictly for a business or for the community involved.
- Both require you to pull your resources to be more effective in executing your duties.
- And in both cases you have someone to answer to: CEO = your employees and your Boad of Directors/shareholders; Cmty Org = local residents and public officials.

IMO, the onlys thing that separates Cain's experience from Obama's is time as an executive and Cain's lack of congressional/political experience especially where foreign policy is concerned. I understand the folks are so anti-government right now, but you'll wish Cain understood the process of government and governance should he become this nation's next President. (And then you'll be wishing you could have your vote back!)

Hardly, but I guess you'll have to ask the Chicago Tribune or WLS-TV and find out who really pushed them to dig deeper. But according to every source I've read including the one I referenced above, digging into Jack Ryan's divorce records was spearheaded by public interest and had nothing to do with the Obama camp.

Some gay guy has accused BO of snorting blow of his johnson ...... does being accused of something make you guilty?

does being accused of something make you guilty?

Based purely on the nonsense i've been reading around here, i would have to say it depends on if it's "your guy" that's being accused or not.

That a couple of women made some accusations of some sort 20 years ago couldn't be more irrelevant.

What is relevant is the manner in how Cain responded to the issue being raised. His clumsy deflection exposed his lack of political savvy.
