Two women accused Herman Cain of inappropriate behavior

The timing of this is suspect. Innocent until proven guilty, IMO.

The best quote about past drug use is one I've heard attributed to Newt Gingrich. Asked about marijuana use, he said, "Sure, I did it once or twice. It was 1969 and I was in grad schoo."
That should be the standard line of pretty much everyone born after 1945. Yes...once or twice...or 100...why?

Obama's debate performances didn't revolve around fairytale tax plans that would never actually come to fruition.
No...they revolved around 'hope' and 'change'. Helped he was a "clean articulate well spoken black man for a change".

During Herman Cain’s tenure as the head of the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s

The desperation to find something to smear him with has hit new lows. It will be completely dismissed.

You mean, like the desperation people had trying to smear Obama with things like Rev. Wright and Will Ayers? Or are those thing legit because it was a Democrat in the crosshairs?

I doubt it.

The problem is that the settlement he paid to the victims--a mere 5-figure dollar amount--is not large enough to appear as though he was trying to hide something. Sounds more like he just didn't want the hassle of a trial.

I have witnessed the very same thing at a company where I worked. A lady didn't think she was getting enough bonus so she said the work place was hostile to her, a woman. An extensive investigation took place and the conclusion was she had no case....nada, zip, nothing. The corporate lawyers argued for a settle to avoid ANY risk of being in front of a jury packed with morons.....the lady received a payment, she resigned and life went on. This stuff happens everyday across the country.

I'm noticing a trend here with some Conservative poster...deflecting the allegations against Herman Cain as if the women had ulterior motives. But what if the allegations are true? Consider what's being reported for a moment:

- Two women paid in the 10's of thousands to settle their sexual harrassment cases out of court.

- Both women placed under gag order not to discuss the case after settlement was reached.

- Herman Cain denying he ever "sexually harrassed anyone", but the allegation Politico.com has reported wasn't for sexual harrassment; they're for "inappropriate [sexual] behavior" which is alittle different. Apples and oranges?...perhaps.

And then there's this statement he made back in May of this year well inadvance of these allegations going public likening the charge as being similar to what Justice Thomas went through during his Supreme Court confirmation:

In May, Cain told The Washington Examiner, “They're going to come after me more viciously than they would a white candidate. ... And so, to use Clarence Thomas as an example, I'm ready for the same high-tech lynching that he went through — for the good of this country.”

Could it be he knew this story would eventually go public and he's been sitting back waiting for it since then? Okay, so that's alittle far-fetched since the Washington Examiner story was really about his adversaries playing the race card, but still...it's something that makes you go...

Hmmm...

Those were legit only is as far as they went to "moral character". We in the U.S. as a whole have put our Presidents on a pedastal. We expect them to be above reproach. We expect them to be good "moral" people who have lead good "moral" lives. I think who a person associates with and what kinds of things they have done...drugs, affairs, etc. are legitimate things to bring up as far as moral character goes, then its up to all of us if this is something we can deal with or not.

Personally, who you screw is between you and your spouse (if married). Actually, to me, the people you associate with would be more important to me than an affiar back in the 80s or whatever. But, I think all of it is so blown out of proportion, that its pathetic. The way I see it, if all you can come up with is "this person had an affair" or "this person knew this person when he was a....", it must mean that you dont have much of anything meaningful to "get" the person on.

Generally, if politicians admit to their mistakes and let it go... the public generally lets it go a lot quicker. Hell yes, I inhaled and I enjoyed myself!!! NEXT!!!!

And if the suits had just been filed yesterday, some Cain supporters would probably say they were improperly motivated.

*shrugs* I would never vote for Cain in a million years anyway. I suspect this story will not affect the decision of more than 0.0001% of people in this country.

Hmmm...

Every single candidate knows what he or she has done in the past.....and every single candidate knows that there is a good chance that said info will come out in public. If they dont, theyre delusional. Its all about how they react when the info is given... The only reason the Monika Lewinsky thing went on for so damn long is because when it came out he did the "I did not have sexual relations with that woman!" thing. Had he said.... "yes, I had an affair. My wife and I are trying to work through our issues and would appreciate being left alone to do so." it would have died down a LOT sooner!!! The reason the Anthony Weiner thing went on for so long was because his dumb ass denied it and tried to make up a stupid lie about it. The reason you didnt hear the bush and drinking stuff for too long was because he admitted to it and let it go. The reason you didnt hear anything much about Obama and smoking pot was because he admitted to it and moved on. Politicians need to take a lesson.

Would you vote for a man who came out as being able to fellate himself?

Libtard journalism in 2011 ...... write a story that smears a black man because he is conservative, present no facts, admit you are not going to give any actual details .... and then say its up to the smeared guy to disprove what you wrote. F'in unbelievable.

Politico's Martin: "We're Just Not Going To Get Into The Details Of Exactly What Happened" | RealClearPolitics
Illogical argument 101: Pretend that smearing a presidential candidate is about race while ignoring that this what Republicans and Democrats do to each other every election.

And they say liberals play the race card.

It always makes me laugh when one side all of a sudden gets up in arms about something that the other side has done.... and talks about how horrible it is all the while knowing that they did the exact same thing last go around. They all play the race card and they all use the dirtiest tricks they can come up with to smear the other side. Wonder how long it will take people from both sides of the isle to admit this and move forward?

Yeah, the holier than thou attitude is always a bit astounding to me.

This a racial attack on Cain for not staying on the liberal plantation ..... period.

Did the lame stream media ever run a single story on Politico's brief report about BO's White House being hostile to women? Politico reported on this last month.

................

And Dunn just blew the issue wide open to Ron Suskind, Mike Allen reports:

"'The president has a real woman problem' was the assessment of another high-ranking female official. 'The idea of the boys' club being just Larry and Rahm isn't fair. He [Obama] was just as responsible himself.' ... '[L]ooking back,' recalled Anita Dunn, when asked about it nearly two years later, 'this place would be in court for a hostile workplace ... Because it actually fit all of the classic legal requirements for a genuinely hostile workplace to women.'"

You can damn well guarantee every lame stream media outlet is running the Cain story but they never mentioned Politico's story on BO. The only difference between these men is one is conservative and one is a liberal, both are black......explain to me why they are getting different coverage?

conservativeguy, it's not the liberals' fault that the GOP puts forth poor candidates. Especially when it comes to women and minorities. Cain's Sim City plan is not feasible. He has said some stupid things. Add Palin, O'Donnell, and Bachman to this list and you'll see what I mean.

Hahaha. I hope everybody calls it this from now on.

It is totally inappropriate for a person who obtained some influence and used that influence for sexual gain to run for president in this country!

Oh wait... That's ridiculous. Let the man chase some tail. That's what power and influence are for.

prove it.

........

BO accused of running a hostile workplace by a near and dear friend of his ...... no story.

Cain accused of running a hostile workplace 20 years ago by unnamed people the reporter is hiding.......massive coverage.

I rest my case.

Well, you know what they say.

"Once you go Cain, you'll never refrain"......

There have been studies that suggest that marriage infidelity in America well over 50%. I have no idea if that is accurate or not, but IF it is, I would tend to think that the average voter doesn't really care as much as they say they do.
