Richmond Tea Party Group Sues the City

I think the local tea party people are a bunch of hypocrites. Tea partiers tend to be those who espouse obeying the law and personal responsibility. Well, getting a permit fits that. Now they're saying they don't want to be law observant responsible citizens.

So are you saying that the OWS tend to be those who disobey the law and disregard personal responsibility?

So Occupiers tend to be those who espouse DISobeying the law and neglecting personal responsibility?

I agree with you. :)

Great minds.... :)

There is a big difference between requesting that a law be equitably applied and saying they don't want to observe it.
Yes, there is a big difference. I just find it somewhat interesting that they choose to land on the opposite side of responsibility rather than insisting that all future protests require a permit and fees and such.

Which part, specifically, do you think this about? Don't forget, most of the various groups are not in any kind of communication with each other. The OWS groups here in DC have no funding or support at all. If some of the folks in New York have some money, and I'd love to know where you think it's coming from, good for them. They're the exception, though.

It's common knowledge that the OWS (the original one) is getting massive donations of food, items needed to camp out and money from various people and organizations. I assumed everyone with any interest in this topic knew that.

yeah, just like all the Tea-Baggers who think the Federal income-tax is illegal.

I know A LOT of tea partiers and no one I know thinks the federal income tax is illegal. That's just dumb.

Because that would be the wrong position to take. One does NOT have to get permission to exercise their constitutional rights here. Yes, they erred in going along with it in the first place because their message was more important that a fight with city hall.

It is NOT irresponsible to say that you are not going to pay to exercise your rights.

Just like Thunder is simply a lot of noise.

More partisan games, just what I'd expect from the Tea Party.

Too bad the tea partiers never thought to actually join the occupy protestors. That would be a force to be reckoned with.

They don't agree on the majority of things, so I don't see how that would work.

I agree.. the city is playing partisan games by not charging the OWS the same as the Tea Party....

it's discrimination.
