I think the police have shown enough patience for these protesters. They were given numerous chances to police themselves but that notion isn't sinking in. If people wearing the OWS stripes are going to continue being violent and causing trouble, then they should be dealt with as criminals. Sure, an OWS thug who breaks a window doesn't mean the whole OWS is bad, but when you hear so many of these reports, enough is enough already. Take them to jail. If a group of the OWS is being peaceful, then leave it, but if a lot of people of the OWS in a certain area are causing hell, nip it in the bud.
You'd think they'd get the hint...maybe a good old water hose would send them packing.
They need to: Go Home and Get A Job
- Colonel Paul YinglingNobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.
Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.
All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.
