To make his death more painful and to add insult to injury. That man was their brutal dictator for decades,so it's understandable that they would want a little payback for the suffering they endured.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

The act sickens me, as well as those who support it because it's being done to a dictator. Such people are no better than Gaddafi was.

... Gaddafi threatened to carry out attacks against civilians in Europe unless Nato halts its campaign of airstrike ...
Human Rights Watch, the New York-based organisation, said more than 170 people had been killed in the unrest. Libyans put the death toll higher and speak of “massacres” in eastern cities where the uprisings have been the strongest.
Since coming to power at the age of 28, Col Gaddafi has survived by playing tribes off against each other and using security forces and a climate of fear to quash dissent.

America has done things you clearly disapprove of. America has also been on the forefront of foreign aid, disaster assistance around the world, have assisted in preventing genocide in the Balkans, assisted in defeating the axis in WW2, and helped maintain the democracy in South Korea, etc. We have enemies, but we also have friends. Kosovars and Croats cried with happiness for NATO's help with Serbian brutality; Serbs were not so happy. Libyan rebels who wanted democracy cried with happiness for NATO's help. Kadaffi loyalists did not. You look at America and see only ugliness, blind to any good it may have done or people it may have helped saved. That does not tell me you love this country.

In many of the few posts you have made here, you have listed "American atrocities" going all the way back to the 1800's. You rail about the horrors America has wrought on the world without acknowledging any of its accomplishments. That does not tell me that you love this country.

This is the internet. People can pretend to be anyone from anywhere. Whether they will believed, well, that's something else again.
    Libya's case wasn't same with Serbian's one.

Islam world is not in war with USA. Iran, Iraq, Libya wasn't in war with USA. This is just into the mentality of US politicians. Something that is broadcasted over most of people.
A normal islamist in US's streets with a bag in shoulder is never consider as a normal citizien. And that's due to the mentality made up there by all this time.
How can you explain me that every time a new president come up in US, no matter who he is or will be, he will always find (artificialy imo) an enemy of US.

Once upon a time, US's enemy was Russia (not only USSR). Once upon a time was Japan. Now seems like is whole Islam world. It's in US's mentality. There is not a real problem.

Ok, you can justify the fact of attacking Afganistan and it was fair imo, but with Iraq? - have you found yet the chemical weapons there? Or what about Libya? - to protect civilians? - and you can't believe about the threat that west and US felt about african gold dinar and the plan that Gaddaff had to unite all Africa in one ? If there was an immediate work to be done, it have to be done in Syria. Libyans were living good with high quality of helthcare & education and it was free, they had free electricity, they were rich, everyone had a house garanted by the govern. You can't lie the world saying that Libyans didn't wanted Gaddaff. 1 July of 2011 at Green Square of Tripoli proved it.

You still didn't answer my question: Who will pay for civilians losts by bombaradtion in Libya ?? Will you americans accept to pay because your president wanted to throw some missiles down there??

That's a rather blanket approach to the situation - if you're appalled by how he was treated before they killed him then does that mean you support him? (Of course not - so the opposite is obviously not true as well)

Libya's case was very much like the Balkans. The US wasn't at war with Serbia either. Nor was the action taken in Kosovo a US action. It was a NATO action, although the US did take the lead in those attacks. Libya was also a NATO action; it, however, was not led by the US. It was led by France, Britain and Spain. You talk about the mentality of the US... it seems your mentality is to blame the US for the actions of other countries.

A normal islamist in US's streets with a bag in shoulder is never consider as a normal citizien. And that's due to the mentality made up there by all this time.
How can you explain me that every time a new president come up in US, no matter who he is or will be, he will always find (artificialy imo) an enemy of US.
Because the US has enemies. Not artificial enemies. Real, honest-to-god enemies who call for our destruction, and attack US assets here and abroad. During President Reagan's reign, US barracks were attacked in Bierut, killing hundreds of soldiers. Libya supported terrorists to blow up a passenger jet over Lockerbie, killing hundreds of civilians. During the senior Bush administration, Iraq invaded a US ally, Kuwait, and repeatedly fired missiles at US aircraft afterward, in defiance of UN imposed no-fly zones. During the Clinton administration, Islamists terrorists detonated a bomb in the world trade center, killing and injuring civilians. Also during the Clinton administration, Serbia attempted to commit genocide on the Kosovars. Islamists blew up two US embassies in Africa, and attacked the USS Cole, killing and injuries dozens of US naval personnel. Iraq continued to fire at US military planes enforcing the no-fly zone. During George W. Bush's presidency, Islamists crashed 4 civilian passenger jets into the world trade center, the pentagon and the 4th attempt was thwarted by passengers. Need I go on?

Once upon a time, US's enemy was Russia (not only USSR). Once upon a time was Japan. Now seems like is whole Islam world. It's in US's mentality. There is not a real problem.

Ok, you can justify the fact of attacking Afganistan and it was fair imo, but with Iraq? - have you found yet the chemical weapons there?
I and many Americans were appalled by the invasion of Iraq. I still believe quite vehemently that it was illegal, and wrong.

That's BS. First, I have already explained that the Libyan operation was a NATO operation led by France, Britain and Spain, not the US, and occurred only because the Libyans in the east had already begun a bloody rebellion to which Gadaffi responded by using the Libyan airforce to drop bombs on civilian villages, and slaughter thousands. A few hundred people in Green Square does not represent the tens and hundreds of thousands Libyan rebels who had the city surrounded.

You still didn't answer my question: Who will pay for civilians losts by bombaradtion in Libya ?? Will you americans accept to pay because your president wanted to throw some missiles down there??
Which bombed civilians are we talking about, the one's Gadaffi used his air force to slaughter, the ones Gadaffi used his artillary to slaughter, the ones that the rebels slaughtered on their way to Tripoli, or the handful of casualties that resulted from the French and British led NATO forces that kept Gadaffi's airforce from committing even more atrocities against his own people. If the Libyans themselves, who are now showering NATO with gratitude, want payment, they can bill NATO for it... after which NATO will send them the bill for arming them and protecting them so they could take down a murderous dictator.

Really, your posts are so skewered by hate, misinformation or outright lies, and blind bigotry that they are completely devoid of logic.

But take an honest look at Iran and Saudi, two Islamic nations that purport to be under Sharia, and tell me that there isn't a lot to be uneasy about.

Rape victims being stoned to death? Decapitation for a woman who killed a rapist? Can't go out without a burqua?

Come on. There's a lot more to this than Mecca and bacon. I've not even gone into the tendency of Islamic Republics to support terrorism against the Great Satan and the Little Satan, another legitimate concern.

Same here. I really wish that our leaders would stop prattling on about democracy in the middle east. It just makes us look naive and ignorant.

In this case, the Libyans finally got rid of a hated dictator, but the replacement may be just as bad, except they'll probably be ok with it.
