Naomi Wolf explains our constitutional right to peaceful assembly

Naomi Wolf is well known political activist and journalist. Recently she was arrested for doing nothing wrong at a NYC rally. I'm not a big fan of Keith Olberman but this video is worth watching just to hear what Ms. Wolf has to say. Her account of events and what it means to our First Amendment rights is rather startling.

This is night a right vs. left issue anymore. Our right to peaceful assembly is being trampled upon. I think her understanding of our OBLIGATION to keep government in check is the most important aspect of this interview.

    Decide for yourself.

organized protests on public property require a protest permit, in NYC.

is to so we don't have people blocking sidewalks and streets all over the place, willy-nilly.

You obviously didn't watch the video.

She refused to obey an unlawful order, and the terms of the permit used to arrest her were incorrectly and illegally recited. The cops fabricated the pretext to arrest her.

Next time fully read/watch the OP before you start typing. Thanks.

Who determined it was an unlawful order?

Are the cops part of the 1%, too?

I'll say it again: organized protests on public property in NYC require a protest permit.

no protest permit, means you get asked to leave once..and then you get arrested.

Olbermann himself calls it a "lawful order".

Uh I did. and i have met Ms Wolf. She has faded from the scene of the relevant. she is not an attorney. therefore her claim is dubious.
