Checking Herman Cain's math on 9-9-9

No it's not. It's a 9% tax on gross income less the cost of goods bought from other U.S. companies, exports, and capital investments.

In short, a free ride for businesses and hedge fund managers, but a large hit on consumers of new goods/services. You wanna know what I call Herman Cain's 9-9-9 plan where the middle-class is concerned? A Thrift Store tax because the only way consumers get away from paying the national sales tax in particular is if they buy used goods, not new. This from his own mouth on the Today show earlier this week and during the Los Vegas debate. His tax plan would also kill U.S. manufacturing which the President and Congress are trying to re-start via legislation recently passed on trade deals and patent reform.

The only people who really benefit from Herman Cain's tax plan are once again those at the top.

Don't know how you figure businesses get a free ride when they have to pay a flat 9% on gross income. It's a hell of a lot more than GE paid.

I'm going to be really PO'ed if I end up having to vote for Romney, on the basis of "Only candidate who hasn't proven himself to be an utter idiot, yet." :damn

I would reply, buy your post makes absolutely no sense.

Consumer benefit is often directly at odds with corporate success.

Pretty whacked out primary this time around, I'll have to agree.

Yeah, it is like none of the conservatives are doing what is "politically popular" this time around.

Cain possesses absolutely nothing in the way of foreign policy. He's got charisma, he's got a simple message, and he used to sell pizza. Beyond that, I don't understand the enthusiasm for Cain.

And Obullsh!ts were what exactly?

Obama has actually hard a pretty good impact on foreign policy
1. Instrumental role in arab spring
2. Shutting down the farce that is the Iraq war.
3. Trade relations
4. Getting us out of that silly pissing contest with russia over missiles
5. Getting afghanistan more straightened out
6. Not getting us too involved in libya to create another issue like Iraq turned out to be.
7. Bin Laden
8. The pirates on the horn of africa
9. Just now recalling one of our ambassadors over silly nonsense

Before he was Pres they were what exactly since that is the measure that Cain critics raise?

But just for fun:
1. Which role would that be, when he was for Mubarak staying in power or when he wanted him to leave? Was that a flip or a flop

2. Winding down of it's own accord after he pretty much continued the Bush policies to let the Military do what was needed.

3. Yea starting his term in office with a world apology tour really did wonders.

4. Putin is still posturing in between photo ops with his shirt off.

5. Again continuing the Bush policies pretty much unchanged.

6. Still being played out but the aftermath doesn't look promising.

7. He gets this one.

8. Still there, nothing has really changed.

9. What was that about pissing matches again?

Depends on your definition of "good".

1. Instrumental role in arab spring

I wouldn't be so quick to count this as a good thing.

2. Shutting down the farce that is the Iraq war.

Yep, on GW Bush's time table.

3. Trade relations

Yep, our economy is humming along now, right??
4. Getting us out of that silly pissing contest with russia over missiles

Once again, this may end up being regrettable.

5. Getting afghanistan more straightened out

Yep, by sending in more troops like Bush did in Iraq.

6. Not getting us too involved in libya to create another issue like Iraq turned out to be.

Sure, what's a billion dollars to a big spender like Obama.

7. Bin Laden

I'll give him this one.

8. The pirates on the horn of africa

What's he done. The pirates are still attacking ships.
