Re: Chris Christie Reconsidering 2012 Run, Will Decide in Days

I like Christie. I would love for him to run. However, I'm afraid the primary might destroy him. He either will have to conservatize himself, which will hurt his reputation with moderates as their best hope for the future, or he will stay moderate and be attacked by everyone on the stage. Because he is a star of the Republican party with very little justification at the moment, that could really damage him.

I think he'd be better to wait four years. If the Tea Party loses this election and/or 2014, it should result in a small leftward modification that will leave a perfect opening for someone like Christie. Better to run on the offense than on the defense.

I'm a supporter of Christie, but I hope he doesn't run.

The reason why is because of the same reasons he himself said he would put off running for President - to become more seasoned and to become more involved in politics on a national level, which is far far different from dealing with state politics.

If I were him, I would go the slower, surer route of politics and build up tons more of credibility and a power base not just among voters but also among the political higher-ups and campaign contributors. That way when he does run for President he'll be in a much better position to do so and it will seem more assured.
Also, we need to legalize recreational drugs and prostitution.

Obama had little national level experience. Bush II had his dad's experience but little of his own. Clinton had none. Bush I of course did but he was beat by the guy with little experience.

Kerry, Gore and McCain had all sorts of it.

True...but kerry and Gore were horrible candidates with tons of baggage and McCain ran at exactly the wrong time.
Obama got elected because the media refused to report a single bad fact about him and elevated him to messiah that could do no wrong...no other candidate every enjoyed the total protection and cheerleading by the media that Obama got...

    McCain ran multiple times.

He also ran against a weak candidate saddled with the still bad feelings about Bush. What you note certainly helped him beat Hillary but whichever of those two that won was going to beat McCain.

I agree either or would have beaten McCain for the same reason...the media and the far right teaparty that denigrated Mcain and damaged him badly during the primary...calling him every name in the book from Libtard to Rino and Old man...and the teaparty supporters that said they will stay home in stead of vote for a rino...etc etc etc etc....
McCain did not run multible times...he ran in 2000 and again in 2008

As I noted this wasn't McCains only race. He was beaten years ago by a very weak candidate in Bush II. McCain has never been a strong candidate. There was no Tea Party when McCain was beat, but then again there isn't anything you won't blame them for.

The word is that Mcdonalds is lobbying for him to run. The bribe is a lifetime of Happy meals :-D. Each box comes with cool toy bat-mobile. Hard to pass up.... k, i got it out of my system :_)
He could probably get a tax write-off on the purchase of this scooter as well.

Yeah, and look at how much conservatives are vilifying his administration.
