“There was an opt-out,” Limbaugh explained. “If anybody didn’t want to take it they didn’t have to… So next time I’m going to have to issue another warning. Next time – not only don’t bother with this Social Security ‘Ponzi scheme’ stuff, but forget this vaccine business. This is ending up being a giant distraction. Now I said that [Michele] Bachmann may have jumped the shark. It’s just a gut a feeling.”

“Alright, now she had scored the points in the debate,” he added. “But now this comment has become a news item for Bachmann today, rather than what she said at the debate last night. That’s what I mean by ‘jumping the shark.’ She scored the points and should have left it there.”

In all seriousness, if he thinks she jumped the shark just now, he hasn't been paying attention to her. She jumped the shark when she hid in the bushes during gay rights marches at the Minnesota Capitol.

He has a point with her failing if the focus is on her lies or "misspeak" instead of her plans and goals for America after the debate on Monday night.
 
Rush, as always, has a fair point. But I do believe it would be foolish for us to expect Michelle to lay off Perry as long as she trails him in the polls.
 
I wouldn't accuse Bachmann of jumping the shark, but I might accuse her of jumping the chimp, since some of her ideas seem to have come from one, and a retarded one at that. :mrgreen:

Some of us are just highly entertained by how much Rush gets to you. So much that a few of you are essentially defending Bachman just to disagree with Rush. ;)

In regards to the OP, I didn't have a strong opinion about Bachman until that debate and the one I have now is not favorable.

I agree. Bachmann could have continued to score points against Perry, and dragged him down. Now... now she looks legit crazy. Not crazy as in the oh-my-god-a-conservative-woman-she-must-therefore-be-crazy crazy, but vaccine-conspiracy-theory crazy. Both of them are damaged, but I think Bachmann is done.

nah. Matthews and Schultz are poor imitators. Rush was the original and still the standard for opinion - talk radio.

well, since she came out and related that bs about mental retardation as a result of gardisil, she's toast. although i think she was toast anyway. now she's just trying to keep her face in front of the camera.

Oh, for sure there are right wing talkers that are just as hysterical and ridiculous as the folks you mention but that's not Rush. I do think blowhard is a fair description but he does it in such a sarcastically arrogant way, it totally cracks me up, especially when people fail to realize that, most of the time, it is sarcasm.
