Yup - and Hillary would be president today if they were right the summer of the year before the actual election.

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

Didn't the "insiders" back McCain in 2008? Dole in 96? I don't much have faith in the "insiders".
Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.

I'd personally prefer Huntsman, but he won't have much of the GOP support base, given that he worked for Obama once, and he's too moderate on many issues.
However, given over the prominent GOP candidates, I have to agree that Romney would be the best. He appeals to the GOP if he wins the nomination, appeals to the moderates, and appeals to the anti-Obama Democrats.

Romney does not appeal to the the Tea Party, and he does not appeal to anyone who cares about authenticity.

I would never support Romney and I prefer Huntsman as well.

Instead of having cnn do the next gop debate, maybe we should put Rommey and Perry on American Idol. Then have the winner face off against Obama.

    (No, im not kidding)

If he wins the nomination, then the Tea Party will be forced to support him. It's either Romney or Obama

No, they don't. Some of them will vote for Romney, but other will vote for the libertarians, or not vote at all.

Sixty percent of Republicans support the Tea Party movement. That includes a lot of people who may not vote. If Romney becomes the Republican candidate, they may stay home.

I've pointed this out many times. They did not come out in support of McCain. There are people with principles.

Or, they could run a third candidate, thus ensuring a second term for Obama. Are they foolish enough to do so? could be.
