The target was not the Tea Party, since the survey started in 2006. They called back the people they polled from the religious survey and asked them how the felt about the Tea Party. Pretty hard to have an agenda when the survey was before the agenda could exist.

I didn't misquote anything. You complained that you didn't think they did what they promised. Their position was NO new taxes unless they were more than offset with cuts.

That's what we got. Yours was just a rant.

You know that I've done it more than once with one of your misstatements.

Sorry, there is no making heads or tails of this. Just another baseless rant.

They did get an offset in spending cuts. If you want to be rude and not be critical of your own people fine. The Republicans and a few Tea Partiers got on stage in Iowa and said they would not support tax increases even at a 10-1 spending cut to tax increase ration. If you don't think this counters what you just said you are so full of bias I can only hope Independents come on here and see this argument. We need to cut spending especially mandatory; I am not an extremist liberal. I want what is best for our country.

Its unfortunate that so many of the conservative son DP are so unreasonable. There are some good conservative ideas and many conservative I know in real life, who hold the same philosophies but are willing to work together to get some of what they want. No one is getting everything.

It's rude to point out your conflicting statements? They did what they said they would do. No tax increases without immediate cuts. Say that you disagree with them if you want but you can't say they didn't do what they said they would do. Even if it hadn't happened they still held their position on that.

I really care less what the Republicans say. As far as the Tea Party goes they know that promises of future cuts are absolutely worthless. We got none of that in the debt deal. That was their stated position and that is what we got. Pretty impressive considering how they aren't even officially represented in congress.

There will be no "future promises of cuts". Agreeing to anything less is just more of what got us into this mess.

They were getting cuts. They would have gotten a lot more if they agreed to let end some tax cuts.

Funny...I can't find anybody who admits to voting for Obama! Or anybody who says they will vote for him in 2012.

What does this poll prove? Not knowing how the questions were phrased and not having any information on the sample polled, it means nothing.

The Tea Party is a way of thinking, a concept of individual freedom as expressed by our founders in the Declaration and Constitution. There is no personal freedom without economic freedom. The only reason Obama and the Democrate Congress forced Obamacare down our throats was to gain control over every aspect of our lives. If the government has control over our health care and our money (they're trying to get our guns) then where is our freedom?
