    Hmmm, guess he screwed up.

Gov. Perry did not claim that a federal requirement for farmers driving motorized farm equipment vehicles on public roads was in fact law. However, according to the OP Gov. Perry did elude to such a requirement becoming law under the Obama Administration. As has been noted, the matter was initiated at the state level (Illinois) not the federal level. Per the review conducted by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, it was determined that no such CDL requirement was necessary nor forthcoming.

    Case close.

As to the other stuff brought up in an attempt to discredt the President, i.e., his policies or "broken" campaign promises, I call it fodder to pump up a GOP candidate in the wake of his inaccurate statement. Good to hear Gov. Perry has recanted his commentary. Unfortunately, that's twice since he has announced he was running for the presidency that he has made outlandish comments that make him look like someone out on the fringes. If he's not careful, he could end up looking like yet another nut-ball among the field of GOP nominees and that certainly can't help his political aspirations beyond his governorship.
