Social Security is not in a deficiet situation, and has a surplus of funds. It is not the cause of the US budget deficit

a surplus backed by IOU's, because politicians took money out of the s.s. "money pile".

I guess I need to move north before they cut SS to avoid the heat I get here where it's still over 100, and find a bridge to live under where there is a river with fish so I can eat.

I have paid into SS since I was 12 which is a very long time.

I want to see some logic applied to the problems with current to programs that waste money like Medicare not negotiating for drug costs where we are ripped off every day.

I am on 12 drugs that keep me alive and they cost would be well over $100 a month were it not for a program I am on. One is almost $50 alone, when the cost should be near $10.

This is only one program out of 100 where we are paying too much but they is never addressed, because of special interests and pay offs in the campaign donations.

Do you have a mortgage

If so that is the equivalent of an IOU, just as the government bonds that many people hold. The bonds held by the Social Security trust fund are the same as the IOU (or mortgage) people have with banks

Can the government pay it off? WILL they pay it off? The numbers say no.

Sure they can

With higher income taxes and cuts to other programs. The debt the US government owes to SS is only $2.6 trillion
