I would really choose who I vote for based on issues of this nature - it's not that big of a deal.

You know - whose vote is being fished for when they approved the request for Blackberries at my husband's work? Is that a democrat benefit or a republican steal?

Well I am paying for my cell phone, I demand a free cell because my civil rights are apparently being violated.

Do you know all these cell phones are going to people on welfare, and not workers for the government that need phone such as police station, 911 operators, and fire depts?

Yes, because it's reactionary BS. Either someone went trolling around looking for something to get outraged about, or they read about it on Con blog, or heard Rush talking about it. I'm calling out the reactionary crap.

The Pittsburg Tribune??? Reactionary? Facts and current events arereactionary? Well...OK...

"SafeLink, which has been available to Pennsylvanians for three years, is in 39 states. Spokesman Jose Fuentes could not provide an exact number of users in Pennsylvania, but said there are more than 2 million nationwide.

"The program is about peace of mind," Carter said. "It's one less bill that someone has to pay, so they can pay their rent or for day care. ... It is a right to have peace of mind."

I reckon that's not going to happen, since this economic downfall is by design of that same government.
    Good Lord, apdst.

You're in complete denial to think that all our nation's problems started with this one president or the Democrat party. As I've said before, take off the partisan and see the truth of the matter. The damage was done over an 11-year stretch by both sides.

I'm sorry, but that is utter BS. I understand giving these people money so that they can stay on welfare long enough to get the education or preparation they need for a job. That's it- maybe 4 years on welfare max. But giving them free cell phones..you might as well give them a Wii so they can get recreation, an iPod so they can listen to music, and some candy so they can have sugar. I just don't see where the line is. The government needs the people to decide what the government can and can't do, and right now the government is ignoring all the signs from the people and just plunging along with it's own plans. I agree it will be interesting to learn what politicians got this through, but I care much more about the extra dollars leaving my bank account. I make enough to live the lifestyle I desire, and not much more. If the poor keep getting things that raise my taxes, pretty soon I'm going to have to sacrifice the life style I've spent decades building up to so some slob can watch Netflix and eat popcorn, all of which I bought for him. Breaking news: it isn't Christmas, and the middle and upper-middle class aren't Santa Claus.
