Cain: Tenn. Mosque Infringes on Religious Freedom

Herman Cain: Tennessee Mosque 'Is an Infringement and an Abuse of Our Freedom of Religion'

Cain also claimed the mosque "is an infringement and an abuse of our freedom of religion," the AP reports.
People worshipping the God of their choice is such an infringement of religious freedom.

I must have missed the part where the first amendment only applied to Religions I Approve Of.

OK, if you haven't already stuck "Herman Cain" from your list of sane and reasonable presidential candidates, now would be a good time.

A sizable minority of U.S. Christians eroneously believe this country was designed by our founders to be a nation that favors Christianity, even though the 'plain language' of the Constitution clearly indicates 'religion' and not 'christian religion'. Aside from the plain language, there are indications very early on in our history that Islam was included as one of the protected religions.

I don't know how people believe that freedom to access to muslim services means a slippery slope to mandatory sharia.

Advocates of closing all mosques in America appear to be thoughtful, well intentioned people. I identify with them.

It's thoughtful and well-intentioned to want to deny people fundamental rights?

You should get out of my country because clearly you despise some of its fundamental principles.

Re: Cain: Tenn. Mosque Infringes on Religious Freedom

The OP is taking things out of context. I don't agree with Cain on this issue, and living very close to Murfreesboro I don't mind the Islamic center being built. Cain wrongfully believes that the Mosque intends to spread Sharia law into our courts, this is what he said infringes upon religious freedom (sharia law) not the building of the Mosque.
