Sarah Palin Plots Her Next Move - Newsweek

Sarah Palin hasn’t jumped into the race for the White House (yet), but she believes the prize is there for the taking. In a conversation with Peter J. Boyer, Palin warns Boehner not to raise the debt ceiling, proclaims that Obama is beatable—and says the 2012 field is far from settled.

Long, comprehensive article. I still think she'll run and furthermore, I believe if she does, she'll get the nomination.

I agree with you BD. Palin is just a few months short of becoming irrelevant and her gravy train comes to a grinding halt. She badly needs to run for the nomination and get back onto the front page. I am a bit amazed how far and how fast Bachmann has come in just a few short weeks. And Bachmann is Palin lite. Palin could kick ass if she decided to go pedal to the metal and really go all out for this thing.

This was a really good article. And I would actually much, MUCH rather see Palin than Bachmann take the ticket, and not for any reason you may be thinking.

I agreed with her on the closing point of the article.

“The mainstream press is becoming less and less relevant,” she said, adding that she would have no hesitation in shunning media outlets she does not trust.
“I would say no to those who have lied about me. There is no need to reward bad behavior. I’ve learned. You know, once bitten, twice shy. I have learned.”

I will pledge five dollars to help her win the nomination.

If she fails to get it, but then runs as an Independent and gets on the ballot in at least forty states, I will make it a cool Benjamin.

God I hope you're right. The 1/2 guv will never beat Obama.

I really am not so sure you're right. As many have stated (did you read the article?), there's still a year to go. And things aren't looking so glowing on his watch.

I did read the article. I suspect her decision will come down to two main questions:

1) does she believe she has a real chance to win?
2) does she have the work ethic and commitment for a long campaign that will eat up her life and that of her family?

As to the first, I think she can win the nomination given the way the deck is stacked toward the right in GOP primaries.

Can she beat Obama? That will not be as easy given her extremely high negatives with so much of the American public. Although politicians are amazing at deluding themselves and believing only the best about themselves and their own abilities.

Only she can answer the second one and she talked about that in the article.

And on the positive side, when somebody asks her a question, she actually answers it (unlike Bachmann).

End of story.

"I could win, but ehhh i dont wanna"

Why would Palin run, she's already got fame, fortune, and everything else from just being a tea party darling? Why run where you actually have to perform instead of criticize from the sidelines? I know she's the darling of many people, and I agree she takes a lot of undue flak but there's no denying she isn't Presidential material.

Dunno. She's considering it.

I'm still waiting for her to get back to Couric. 5:25

Naaah. she's her own worst enemy, just like Bachmann. The repubs need someone with more appeal to moderate dems.

NO. They need Sarah Palin.

Wrong they don't need moderates. The moderates will not vote Obama

My dog could beat Obama

I like that attitude. It shows spunk and moxie and guts............ not a lot of smarts .......... but its the GOP we are talking about so thats understood going in. ;)

Dogs are not mentioned in the Constitution.

Does not matter Obama will lose. The economy and unemployment plus other issues will kill him. He has shown he is incompetent to run this country

The point is Obama has failed as president and like Carter will be a one term president

Your dog is a much better alternative than virtually all of the Republican alternatives (that might be nominated, anyway). At least when he opens his mouth, we all will understand him.

I agree that Obama is vulnerable.... but the Republicans have this big bazooka aimed at their foot (aka as the Tea Party) and are not afraid to use it. Just as in '10 (in Delaware, Nevada and Colorado, anyway), the party will put up a complete idiot as a candidate that surely will snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. The Republicans do not realize that the Tea Party is its worst enemy. Though the Republicans have some credible candidates (Romney and Huntsman, for example), the Tea Party tends to not like the credible.
