Koch Brothers Publish Voicemail Of Democratic Senator Asking For Cash - Clare O'Connor - Filthy Rich - Forbes

Oh, ouch!

A senior Koch Industries executive posted an indignant letter on the firm’s official PR website, revealing that Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee chair Patty Murray had hit the Kochs up for cash.

Koch public affairs chief Philip Ellender expressed surprise at the request from a group that he says “engaged in a series of disparagements and ad hominem attacks” against Charles, David and their company, one of the country’s largest industrial conglomerates.

yet another example that we have the best government money can buy

try getting patty murray to call you if you don't have any money to "donate"

Actually, for reasons beyond my comprehension? I can't stop laughing.

I should have finished reading. Now it makes much more sense.

KochPAC, the political action committee of Koch Industries, donated $30,000 to the DSCC just last year, when the Democratic assault on the Brothers Koch was in full swing, and gave another $30,000 to the DSCC during the 2008 election cycle.

Any time cash is involved a few things come to mind.

Extortion, bribery, corruption, to name a few.

Cash unless found hidden in bundles in a freezer leaves to paper trail.

It also makes it plausible deniability possible, and it makes pocketing it a real possibility.

Having been offered bribes and been the subject threats of extortion I have seen this.

As a Councilman we were on a short leash when it came to accepting campaign contributions and the reporting of anything close to any of it was closely monitored and the reporting process was very rigorous.

I had to report anytime Was taken to lunch by a citizen when a City issue was the topic of the conversation, and I had to report the amount spent at such an event.

I put an end to all attempt to bribe me after many attempts by reminding everyone that I was an investigative reporter and Talk Show host and that I alway had a very Small digital recorder in my pocket at all times.

I was never asked out to lunch but once after that and he was a friend and developer who knew the rules.

30 seconds on TV and Radio killed a lot of free lunches, but I like salami and swiss on rye just fine.

I see this as a chargeable offense
